We are happy to present this very nice 1978 Corvette Pace Car. 1978 was the 25th anniversary of the Corvette. Not only were these cars an anniversary model, but they were also chosen to be the pace car for the Indianapolis 500 that year.

Initially there were to be only 2500 of these cars produces. 100 for each year of production of Corvettes. It was later decided to produce 1 for each of the 6502 dealers to display in theirshowrooms. This is one of the more rare and highly collectible4 speed models. There were only approximately 200 Pace cars produced with the L-82 engine and M21 manual transmission.

All VIN#s on the 1978 pace car have the number 9 as the 8th digit.

One indication of a low mileage car is the lack of wear on the leather wrapped steering wheel.

Another indication of low miles, is the lack of wear on the pedals.

The mileage is said to be original.

The gauges are all working except the clock which is not uncommon.

Notice the locking rear compartments.

The glass T-Tops are in excellent condition.

The car was repainted about 6 years ago with base coat/ clear coat. The red pin stripe that always had a tendency to peal, was painted on. This is an exceptional paint job.

The engine compartment showcases the L-82 and is in excellent condition and very well detailed.

The engine runs strong and the car drives out and shifts extremely well.

As you can see, there is a spare tire.

The undercarriage is in very nice condition. The car is unrestored and looks great for a 41 year old car.

The original floor pans are in great condition. There is no rust on this car that we could see.

The factory wheels are in excellent condition with no curb rash or pitting.

This beautiful example of the rare 4 speed pace car needs to be driven to be appreciated. This is no doubt one of the more sought after models and won't last long.

If you are a serious buyer, please come and see the car and take it for a test drive. You won't be disappointed.

One of the very few flaws on the car is this crack on the dash and the tiny chip in the windshield on the passenger side, that is visible in the video.

Again, we want to stress the paint on this car is better than it was from the factory. The decals will be included if you chose to go for that look.
