1979 Chevrolet Camaro Additional Info:

For you consideration is this 1979 Chevrolet Camaro in very clean condition. This car runs and drives excellent and is a head turner with very shinny paint and a rumbling mildly built 350 engine. If you like this generation Camaro it will be harder to find a cleaner one that's not just a show car. I'm offer this car for sale as my personal car (registered and titled to me) and I'm selling it because I have a few too many cars. Please bid with confidence that this is a nice driver, and please come and look at it (you'll bid more if you do!) and ask any questions you have ahead of time.
ENGINE/TRANS: The car vin's out as a 6 cylinder car but the current power-plant is a 4 bolt main 40 over 350 Chevy built in 2012. It's had enough drive time to know that it was built right! The receipts for the work done are in the pics. It starts right up, does not leak and drives anywhere you want to go. It has a nice rumble as the muffler may be a Flowmaster. Also to consider in the engine bay is the not working factory air. The car came with A/C and still has the components minus the compressor, compressor brackets and the hoses. I suspect it was removed when the 6 cylinder was replaced with the 8 and could likely be made operational again. The transmission appears to be a Turbo 350 and has a nice stiff shift.

BODY/PAINT: Outside of a show-car you'd be hard pressed to find a cleaner one. The body appears to have no rust and is clean. It has had an excellent repaint that looks glossy still. It was painted before I owned it so I don't know the age of the repaint but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same time as the engine switch in about 2012. You can still even see the original spot welds around the underside if the trunk and fenders. You'll note that will the hood open the paint on the inside of the front fenders is painted like the rest of the body and is not over spray. Care was taken in the repaint - and I can't stress enough how clean it is. It does have some "grocery getter" use and is not perfect.
INTERIOR: With the exception of a couple of driver seat repairs the interior, door panels, carpet, headliner and dash are all in excellent condition. The odometer reads a believable 78,603 miles, but I cannot say for sure if that is accurate. (The car-seat is for my grandson and does not come with the car!)
REPAIRS: When I purchased the car I noted that the front sat low and the front tires had cupping. I assumed this was because of the 6 cylinder coil springs and the heaver v8 engine. I have replaced the front springs with the V8 springs and the car sits a little higher than the pictures show. I also replaced the front tires with raised white letter Cooper tires, so they do not match the back tires. It has also recently had a complete rear brake job including shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder and hardware. At this point it needs nothing - get in and drive.
DRIVE-ABILITY: This car is a great driver and I often drive it for work or out for errands. It drives straight and solid and the brakes work excellent. It does not pull when driving or braking. The transmission shifts as it should. I love driving this car and every where i go it starts conversation. People love it and connect with it.
AUCTION: This is a buy it now or best offer auction so it can sell quickly. If you are seriously interested please don't wait until the last day and then it's gone. Please ask any questions you have before making me and offer. If you are in doubt or don't have the money please don't make an offer. The car is as is where is. Please make arrangements to pay in full within 7 days unless we work something else out. If you get here and see the car and don't like it, I'll refund your deposit minus the listing and seller fees. If you buy it and never show or change your mind you will lose your deposit. If you plan to ship it I will need the funds in house first and there will be no refund of any kind.

I'm not desperate to sell this car - but it gets too little use because I have too many. I won't be offended if you low ball me - just don't be offended if I don't accept! We are car folks here and lets have some fun - and maybe I'll see you on next years HOT ROD Power Tour!
