1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Additional Info:

Fans of the muscle car era will find plenty to love in this 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle. Gorgeous blue paint, a handsome interior, and factory A/C, not to mention a solid foundation for performance starting with a stout 350 V8, all make this a great classic for having fun on weekends. GM's A-body aged quite well during the muscle car era, and even in 1971 it was still one of the top predators on the street. That means... there's no need for subtlety, so you may as well paint it bright Mulsanne Blue with black SS stripes like this one (a respray of the car's original Code 26A color). Fortunately, the work was done to a high standard and this was a straight car when the work started, so it was easy to get spectacular results. The gaps are great, the stripes are laser straight, and the two-stage urethane paint is so bright that it can probably be seen from orbit. A cowl-induction hood adds an aggressive look and the SS gear in 1971 included a blacked-out grille and a few well-placed badges around the perimeter, just so folks knew what they were messing with. The work was done to a high-standard and while it's not perfect, it is in the ideal condition for cruise nights and having fun with your car, which is entirely the point, right? All the chrome and trim is new, and your buddies will love the twin tailpipes peeking out from under the bright chrome bumper and with the way this car looks, you won't get many challengers at red lights. Inside, the high-quality restoration continues, with supple black vinyl bench seats, a column shifter, and an SS dash featuring a 7k tachometer. The seat covers, door panels, and carpets are all in fantastic shape showing only very light wear that's in line with the 2,114 miles on the restoration. The headliner is taut, the door panels are SS-spec, and the dash is free of cracks, further evidence this Chevelle has always been garage kept. The factory A/C uses modern R134a refrigerant, so it's easy to service and doesn't cost a fortune and a modern, and a retro-style AM/FM/AUX stereo was installed correctly into the factory slot in the dash. Pop the trunk and you'll find properly spatter-paint finished floors and plenty of room to accommodate for pretty much any travel plans. The rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood cackles and snarls the way a true muscle car engine should, providing more power than many big blocks we've driven. Finished 2,114 miles ago, it's only been driven on weekends, so it's still fresh and runs superbly. A QFT 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake manifold handle the air and fuel, hiding in plain sight under a chrome Bowtie open-element air cleaner with matching chrome valve covers. Inside, it's been augmented with aluminum heads, which is entirely a good thing, and the long-tube headers and dual exhaust bolster its torque production and give it one heck of a soundtrack with Flowmaster mufflers out back. The TH350 3-speed automatic shifts smoothly when you're just taking it easy, but snaps to attention when you crack the throttle, and with a 12-bolt out back, worrying about breakage is a thing of the past. Power steering allows for easy driving and the power front disc brakes bring the whole show to an abrupt stop. Classic SS mag wheels look great up against the vivid blue paint and wear 245/60/15 BFGoodrich white-letter radials all around. High-profile cruisers need to deliver on their looks, and this Chevelle nails it. And with plenty of power on tap, this '71 is ready to rock. Call today!
