The Chevrolet Corvette will forever be America's oldest official sports car with a bold tradition of building a 2-seat, performance oriented... vehicle for the past 66 years! Throughout the good years, and arguably bad ones, there is a Corvette to catch the attention of almost any automotive enthusiast. The C2 Generation is wildly considered among the most desired for classic car collectors the world over, placing any available in high demand. These C2 Generation Corvettes comprise of the years from 1963 to 1967. With their beautifully sculpted body lines, improvements within independent suspensions, 4-wheel disc brakes, and various engine options, it's easy to see why this model consistently increases in value year by year! Not surprisingly, convertibles always outnumbered the coupes by nearly 2 to 1 each year, making the coupes highly desirable and rarer within the market. Especially since the coupes are more likely to have factory air conditioning! We are very excited to offer this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe finished in popular Nassau Blue (976) over bright Blue Vinyl (414) interior! This heavily optioned Corvette example comes with its factory appointed, numbers matching HR-code 327ci V8 300 horsepower engine, Powerglide automatic transmission, 3.36:1 Posi-Traction axle, air conditioning, power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, power windows, telescoping steering wheel, all Soft-Ray tinted glass, upgraded custom Sound AM/FM/Cassette radio with factory power antenna. This Corvette example was later fitted with correct style cast aluminum knock-off wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich Silvertown Goldline Radial tires and a side exit exhaust system! This Corvette Coupe For Sale hailed originally from Anaheim, California when it sold from the Cone Brothers Chevrolet dealership to its first owner on June 10, 1966. The vehicle would spend its early years cruising the streets of Orange, CA being serviced regularly at Cone Chevrolet and staying with the original family owners until approximately 1992. It would trade hands to another Los Angeles area resident falling into the care of NFL football player and Heisman Trophy winner, John Cappelletti, who would service it as necessary, enjoying his newly acquired Corvette until July 1994. He would then sell it to another southern California resident, Johnny Pagnini of Johnny Pag Motorcycles in Riverside, CA. He too would enjoy his classic car investment by driving it to 96,283 miles before asking Corvette restoration specialist, Automotive Expertise in Huntington Beach, CA, to commence a full overhaul of the original engine and transmission. So in June 2007, Automotive Expertise would meticulously rebuild both the engine and transmission preserving the original components where possible. The factory block was cleaned and magnafluxed, then carefully decked to preserve the factory stampings, then bored and honed, with align-honed main bearings. It would receive 8 new pistons and rings, new camshaft and cam bearings, main bearings, a ground crank, new rods, rod bearings, all of which would be fully balanced to standard 300 horsepower specifications. Both heads were resurfaced with fresh valve guides and seats, guide seals, new exhaust valves, valve springs, hydraulic lifters, and head gaskets. Others additions included a new water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, period correct Holley carburetor (original A.I.R. version included), drive belts, all fresh gaskets, hoses, ignition equipment, front wiring harness, timing chain set, battery, and all fluids! The complete engine/transmission rebuild on this classic Corvette for sale also included servicing the rear differential, factory a/c system, completely new braking equipment with new hoses, e-brake cables, as well as replacing the front and rear shocks. All service records of this car from 1967 to present day are included, along with the original Protect-O-Plate, factory brochure, and owner's manual. It would travel to Houston, TX in 2014, before coming home to St. Louis in April 2015 where it has been ever since. Immediate service upon arrival included all new fluids (Dot 4 brake fluid flush, transmission flush, coolant flush, renewed differential fluid, and engine oil/ filter). The tires were installed in January 2018 along with new front control arm bushings. The eye-catching Chevrolet Corvette continues to start, run, and drive with perfect ease! It has been driven a total of 10,689 miles since the overhaul 12 years ago. All features are in full working order including cold air conditioning, power windows, electric clock, power antenna, and all other safety items. This classic Corvette is truly a remarkable classic car investment for any automotive enthusiast looking for a highly optioned Corvette Coupe that retains its number's matching drivetrain.
