1966 Chevrolet C-10 Short Stepside, Custom Cab, Big Rear Window Additional Info:

If you watched the Mecham auction in Kissimmee, Florida and the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, you saw many Restomod pickups of equivalent high quality sell for between $45,000-$70,000 with some topping $100K. Old price records were shattered in all categories. The collector vehicle market is hot. The ROI is much better than savings interest.

Has a rare combination of options…Short wheelbase short Step-side, big rear window, custom cab!

The owner of this pickup is 77 and has owned and driven this pickup for past 43 years. He taught his son to drive in it. His family has finally convinced him it is time to sell.
Fresh 8 year full body off restoration completed by professionals. New owner will get a large box containing $55,000 in actual restoration receipts. Only 1,800 miles since the full restoration. Mostly driven to car club meetings and shows.
This is not a stock, original pickup. It’s a Restomod with improvements to performance, safety and handling, but it retains most of its desirable stock appearance other than wheels. It has power steering, disc brakes in front, a 300+HP 350 SBC balanced crate engine with a 700R4 four speed (overdrive=low RPM at highway speeds) automatic transmission and 3:73 Posi differential. Has a receiver hitch for towing, but the wiring is not completed. It has never towed since restored (but it would look really cool mated to a similar vintage RV trailer).Everything on this truck is either new or rebuilt to original specs. In reality, this pickup is probably better than new. It features the greatly improved bear-claw door latches from LMC.
All sheet metal and frame were either sandblasted or acid dipped and ALL RUST areas (few) were replaced with new steel, then primed, before being painted in original 1966 'Sky Blue' GM color. This pickup has lived in the Idaho and Washington since owned the past 43 years.
In the bed, you will find beautiful red oak with a clear sealer and stainless-steel trim strips. You will find the paint and body work straight and flawless.
Front and rear bumpers plus the grille are show quality triple chrome plated.
A brand new deluxe 22 circuit wiring harness from LMC ($800) was installed and all lights and etc. are new. It even has courtesy lights under the dash.
It comes with 2.5" dual exhaust with stainless steel "Magnaflow' lifetime mufflers. Exhaust is not loud, but it has a good rich throaty sound that tells you this is not a stock engine.
The spare is mounted in the stock position under the new oak bed. Has original style 6 lug Chevy axles. Aluminum modular wheels shown are 6 lug and there are many vintage wheel options for this pickup to give it a more original appearance, if desired. It's an inexpensive option.
Both NADA and Haggerty show the restored value for this truck near $50K, but they are far behind in values based on recent auction sale prices.

I don't believe you will find any flaws on this pickup either cosmetically or mechanically. It is kept garaged and comes with a custom car cover (new in box).
If you go out and buy a brand new 2019 Chevy truck for about the same amount, it will depreciate like a rock, while this truck continues to appreciate every year. It's both a useful classic truck that drives excellent, as well as an investment.

It does not have A/C, but you can purchase the complete Vintage Air A/C conversion kit specifically for this pickup on eBay for about $1,200 and there are many shops authorized to install Vintage Air in most areas. The new 22 circuit wiring harness will accommodateA/C.

This truck is located in Meridian, Idaho 83646 (for transport quotes). It is only 15 miles from the Boise, Idaho airport. Willing to meet a prospective buyer at the airport with the truck for a full inspection and demo drive. You will not be disappointed. It looks better in person than the pictures reflect.

Good luck bidding! The reserve is set well below its current book value, current market value based on recent auctions and the actual restoration costs. It needs to go to a new home. Funds go into a family trust.

Please no offers contingent upon obtaining financing. It has sold twice to buyers who could not qualify.

The top 3 Classic Vehicle lenders in the US are…JJ Best, LightStream and Woodside.

Only bid if you have the funds available. Thank You! Prefer payment via direct wire deposit bank to bank. Copy of Idaho Title and Registration in pics.

My name is Kurt. I have owned many of these trucks and I am restoring a 66 that is almost identical. Gary the owner, is not internet savvy, so your initial contact will be with me, but I will provide Gary’s phone number and email address to you for communications. I am much younger at 67
