The Corvette has been one of the most identified and brand recognized automobiles of all time. It has always stayed true to its heritage by starting as and staying as a 2 seater, personal sports car. By owning a Corvette, you have automatically induced yourself into a secret society, a common denominator bond with each other which builds relationships all over the world. It's the friendly hand wave, the quick conversation at a car show or cruise night or in the parking lot at the mall. Wherever it is or whatever you're doing in your Corvette, you've earned the respect of all other drivers that inspire to be you. It symbolizes the accomplishment of life, of business, of stature and is better then any dating site online today. Owning the right Corvette as an investment is a whole other story.
The first generation of the Corvette became an instant collectible. It had low production numbers, rare color combinations and plenty of style. It was truly the introduction to the sports car in our society. It changed the culture of America forever. For the 1957 production year of the Corvette there were a little over 6300 built and then you can dissect the rarity by adding the motor option, the 3 speed manual transmission and the rarest of all colors (Aztec Copper with Shoreline Beige Interior) the amount built exactly like the one offered here today is 1 of 263 with its color option and out of that it's hard to tell how many of those were 283 dual quads, 3 speeds . A very low production number that brings value to any car let alone a Corvette.
Early Corvettes from the C1 generation are impossible to decode since there was no #'s to decoded except for the date codings. So I will tell you about this Corvette offered today. The numbers and stampings are all date coded correctly right down to the 283 engine. The only letter that we can't determine is the final letter of the engine code which determines if its a dual quad set up or the 4bbl carburetor set up. Everything else that we can see is dated coded to this car. I know Corvette collectors can be very picky so I wanted to mention that first and foremost. The condition of the car will be explained below and right after the description will be MANY photos and a VIDEO to show you the exact condition of the vehicle. You'll also notice that there is an NCRS license plate on the front which this car has no record of being judged from the NCRS.
Exterior:
The exterior of the this Corvette is absolutely stunning. No matter what local show or cruise night it always comes home with a trophy or even best of show. The restoration was done about 10 years ago. It was done in its rare original Aztec Copper paint(only 263 were this color) and the paint is in excellent condition. The body is straight and the depth of the paint is brilliant. The chrome and all the brightwork is brilliant. Because of the restoration being done some time ago, there are a few blemishes when looking up close and when I say up close I mean within inches. But its still shows brilliant and its prominent that there was extreme care taken to finish this Vette and its appearance shows and proves it. All the lights and marker lights work and the glass is in excellent condition. At the time of restoration all the rubber was redone and the top was redone also. We are keeping the top up to get the wrinkles out as it sits in heated storage. Underneath the car was also restored and shows excellent. It was done right also and you'll notice the shocks and the rear nylon straps are all correct. Please view all the pictures and video of the vehicle below and let us know of any questions you may have.
Interior:
The interior was redone at the time of restoration and presents in excellent condition. You can see the age of the restoration because in some areas the sun has discolored the very top of the door panels a little from sitting at shows with the top down. This is very minor but I want to mention. The carpets, seats, dash and door panels are all in excellent condition and show and present extremely nice. Keep in mind, the restoration wasn't just completed, it has been well cared for through the years and the pictures will show in detail the condition. All the gauges work properly, however the tachometer does not work properly. It jumps a little and/or doesn't work. The window operate properly and the top mechanism works excellent and has a nice fit. Please view the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have.
Drive-Train:
The engine and transmission were redone at the time of restoration and the numbers are coded correctly. As I mentioned you'll notice the block stamping the last letter is not readable to determine if the dual 4bbl carburetors were original to the engine or not. The car runs and drives and shifts beautiful and you'll notice in the video there are no rattles or shakes while driving. All the components have been restored and the car is road worthy. The exhaust sound beautiful. This is a turn key restoration both inside and out and up and down. Plenty of pictures have been taken of the casting numbers but let us know of any questions you may have.
In Summation:
As I mentioned earlier collecting the right Corvette can be somewhat of a challenge because how can you choose. Rare colors, rare options and a beautiful restoration does make your decision a lot easier. This car could be the one. It has been and will continue to be a show stopper. Yet its a driveable, restored car. Its not a 100 point NCRS judged vehicle and will not come with that extreme high price tag that comes along with the judging, but by no means are we saying it couldn't be judged. The choice is yours.
PAYMENT:
The car can been seen at any time we work out. It has over 50 pictures and video attached to this add. You will have 10 days to ask questions and come and inspect the car or have a 3rd party inspect it. If you bid and win, please follow through with payment. Don't bid and win then start asking questions. Make sure you ask your wife, neighbor, son, daughter or even the dog if its ok to buy it before you commit. I say these things because I've heard it all and if you're intentions are not good it just wastes everyone's time.
There is a $1000 deposit due immediately after auction end and balance due within 7 days. Please follow through with those guidelines. Also, car will remain in storage and cared for until payment has been made in full and your shipping company arrives to pick it up.
