1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:

This 1966 Chevelle SS396 Convertible is ready for a new home! Restored about 10 years ago in its correct Marina Blue paint and white top. Original interior was blue and changed to black when restored. True "138" SS396 car with non numbers matching BRAND NEW crate motor. BRAND NEW rebuilt Muncie 4 speed. The car runs like a TOP. Starts right up and goes like stink. Gears shift great and runs hard through the rev range. Rebuild has about 500 miles on it for both engine and trans.

Very straight car, check out the side pics. Paint shines very nicely and shows well overall. Has a few age signs and imperfections. There are a few cracks in paint on the top of passenger side quarter near the trunk lid. Some lifting on the rear of the same quarter panel. A few cracks near the rear emblems as well. There is a 1/2" chip on the drivers side door that was touched up. Top is very nice, no note worthy wear, with only a few minor spots that are little off color. Not bad for a white top. The rear window is a hair cloudy, but no hardness or cracks.

Interior is overall in nice shape. Seats, door panels and carpet were redone. Minor wear shown in places, with nothing major to report. Now features Vintage AC that blows cold. Also has a lower dash mount stereo. Front windows go up and down smoothly. Rears require a little wiggle going back up. Power top operates well. Lights work. Engine temp sensor read high for the gauge - 190F with a laser at the sensor reads near the top of the gauge, was the wrong one ordered when the engine was done. Speedo can bounce or be a little sporadic.

Underside shows overall well with some surface oxidation on unpainted surfaces and largely if not entirely original metal. Trunk floor is solid. On the top side shows some surface oxidation under the mat with some small pocking. No rot through and could be cleaned up with a wire brush and some trunk splatter paint it appears.

This is a perfect example of an original SS396 convertible ready to be driven and enjoyed with a rebuilt drivetrain - ready to cruise. It shows well over all and I would describe it as a driver with no immediate needs to be ready for the new owner. I just took it on a 40 mile drive in LA traffic at rush hour, in the heat and performed like a champ. Would hop in and drive anywhere.

Feel free to ask any questions!
My standard disclaimer/mantra for any car regardless of service or price: The car is sold with no warranty. You are buying a used car. Eventually every car will break, if you find one that doesn't please let me know. I do my ABSOLUTE BEST to describe accurately the shape of the car, but keep in mind it is impossible to discuss every detail of a car for better or worse. I am not a dealer, just a guy who loves Chevelle (among other cars) and hope to pass along my passion and fervor for these cars. That said if ever you encounter an issue I do my best to provide advice, direction or even parts if I have them. Please understand that it is a used car and will have signs of use. That means please do not expect a showroom brand new car. Please adjust your expectation level to that of a car that however is good condition. This is a nice Chevelle, but please just remember that no car is perfect. Please only bid if you intend to buy. If you would like to have an Ebay 3rd party mechanic service check out the car I MORE than welcome it. Please have the car checked out before bidding and not after, if you intend to use that service. And please, if you would like to utilize this service, contact me with more than a couple days left in the auction so we can arrange schedules. Please check your local laws and registration procedures before buying. Buying over the internet can be scary sometimes! I get it, because I am an enthusiast too!! For that very reason, I am more than happy to answer every and any question you may so you know 100% what you are buying. But, please ask any and all questions ahead of purchase! It is impossible to list every pro and con of a car, I am not an inspection service, it is your responsibility as a buyer to do your due diligence and inspect the car. All sales are final, you are buying as-is, the sky is blue, etc, etc. Sorry to have to give the boring speech!
