Up for sale we have a stunning 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS. This car has undergone a complete frame off restoration and has been restored to the iconic feel of '68. It features a Big Block 396 paired with a gorgeous color combination. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of this Chevrolet, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. We will start off with the exterior of this Camaro. The body on it is all rock solid we gorgeous body lines and fit of the panels. You'll also notice all of the gaps around the hood, trunk and doors are even. This '68 was repainted in Base Coat Clear coat and was done in the Fathom Blue paint that's accented by the White Nose Stripe. It has been buffed and polished to a beautiful finish that's slick as a ribbon. Both bumpers have been replaced and sports the front and rear spoilers. The rest of the trim and stainless is in like new condition as well from rocker molding to the window trim. All the glass is all in great condition with the windshield having been replaced. To finish off the exterior it's sitting on a set of 15" Rallyes with Red Line tires, beauty rings, and flat centers.
Next, we will look on the interior of this '68. On the inside it's done in the Blue that complements the exterior beautifully. It does feature bucket seats, but is a console delete car and has the Hurst Shifter in the floor. Looking at the dash you can see the pad is in like new condition along with the gauges which are working. This car still has the factory style knobbed radio and you can see it's get the old school feel with the Stuart Warner Oil and Temp Gauge. You'll also notice it has the Woodgrain accents that tie into the steering wheel. All the seat covers, the headliner, and the carpet appear to have been replaced and are still like new. In the trunk it all appears to be rock solid with great detail and has the Spare and Jack.
Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of this Chevrolet. Under the hood it's powered by the 396 Big Block (casting # 3955272) It's set up with the GM Intake and Holley 700 Double Pump Carb. It's dressed in the stock style valve covers and breather with the 350 HP call outs. Everything in the engine bay has a beautiful detail and period correct feel with the correct firewall markings and hose clamps. For exhaust it has manifolds with dual pipes and the Flowmaster Cross Flow muffler. The 396 is mated to the Four Speed T10 Transmission and 10 Bolt Rear End. This Camaro does have Power Steering and Power Brakes with disc on the front. When you look under it you can see that it has had an impressive Rotisserie Restoration done. The floors are done in body color and all appear rock solid along with the frame and rockers. You'll also notice that gas tank has been replaced along with the fuel and brake lines. Under the front you can see the ball joints and bushings all appear to have been replaced.
