1985 Chevrolet Blazer Tahoe Additional Info:

The story I get from the auto report is that the original owner passed and it ended up with a family member. That, along with what I gather on the maintenance receipts is why I'm making that assumption.

I have had since November 2017. Intent was for my 16yr old to drive. Long story short, those plans have changed. Therefore I am selling.

It is very enjoyable to drive. Will cruise the interstate at 65-70 without a problem. I had some initial start up issues when I first bought it, but those have all been resolved (new choke). It starts up nicely, runs well and shifts well. I have seen no evidence of any 4wd issues. 4wd engages and drives fine the couple times I have tried it. Overall as solid runner.

The vehicle overall is in remarkable condition. I see no evidence of a repaint anywhere on trim, jams, underneath, etc. I did my best to capture any appearance flaws in the pics. Bottom side of the drivers door has issues at the skin seam. Passenger door only near the front edge on the bottom. I have over 50 pics available.

Interior is truly a time capsule. Upholstery is great condition as you can see. Someone installed a later generation steering wheel. The install is a bit crooked. Perhaps an adapter issue. Unsure, as I have not dove into addressing that. Power windows and door locks. All functional. The turn signals just went out about a few days ago. I have not diagnosed yet. I recently fixed the broken plastic hinge on the center console with hinges from the hardware store; so it's fully functional now.

It has a small drip of oil that I recall my mechanic said was from the oil pan gasket. We chose not to lift the engine and address that at the time. He stored it for me over the winter and did some basic tune up work for me over winter. Fluids, etc. The engine is a solid runner and there is no evidence of any other concerns.

The A/C does not blow cold. There has been a R12 to R134 A/C conversion. I just have not had the system charged.

Overall a great truck that is very enjoyable to drive. Unfortunately, I have to let it go and get something a little newer for the new driver in the family. The truck also deserves someone else that will enjoy the nostalgia this Blazer has to offer.

The truck is just outside of Chicago near O'Hare Airport. (ZIP 60016)
