History:

I have owned the car for 25 years purchasingyear after Restoration was completed. It has since Restoration always been covered in heated garage. Has never been in weather elements, nor hose washed. Body is laser straight, paint restoration is beautifully reproduced and flawless to correct factory details, undercarriage is pristine. Original Interior retained with few minor restoration exceptions. In the photos the rear mount antenna is shown dropped down into trunk due to cover. White bagsare for humidity absorption during storage. All new fluids/filters throughout in April 2016. Fuel used since owned: 110 octane TORCO or 100 octane Sun Race fuel.

The prior owner found the car while on vacation in North Carolina. It was one of 34 396-375hp cars built with the “California Air” (air injection reactor (RPO K19) option). This was learned at the National Chevelle Owners Convention attended by over 300 members in Peoria in 1986. An employee of the Tonawanda, NY GM engine plant was granted access to all the production engine records where the information was confirmed. This is good historical build code information, but I do not own the original engine. The prior owner although committed to a full restoration with described custom modifications, after learningthe findings, left the conference, and the car was never seen again by the Northern Illinois Chevelle Club where he was a member until my contact with them in 1992. The car was seen prior to restoration by several Chevelle members in the club, two who knew the car when it was full stock. The car is easily returned to stock withcorrect date coded 396/exhaust, Rally Wheels/Tires, Rear Gear ratio and removal of chassis performance mods.

The car restoration and custom modifications were done to a high Professional standard. Car has been well cared for, and onlyshown locally. I am 70 and following recent medical problemshave decided to part with the car. Serious questions/information provided upon request. Additionalextended photo/video archiveavailable.
