1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan Fastback Coupe
This is a solid old car. Garaged for decades. The original owner was a hermit type. I believe the carb needed work so it was garaged and never fixed. It was sold once, and that owner didn't get it running and had it in a shop. The car is original. I'm not sure if all the drivetrain is original but it looks to be. 216 six cylinder with a three on the tree. Clear title in my name. Very little rust. It's a good one to rat, kustomize, or restore to original. I was going to do a clone it into a woody coupe, which they did make. A pic is included of that. I've had this car awhile. It is on my list of keepers but that list is too long. I have 80 pics I can send. Please don't ask if your not a serious buyer. More details below. Thank you.
MECHANICAL
The car has what looks to be the original 216 inline six cylinder. I can check the numbers for you if you care. Three speed manual on the column. The car was parked, years ago, and the carb removed. It has never ran again. The oil looks fine. the engine turns over normally with no weird noises. It will need the full tuneup I'm sure and all fluids. The tires are bad and the brakes don't work. The usual deal. The clutch works fine, from what I can tell. It shifts fine and stops the car and holds it on a hill. I think you could get it running with a little work but I can't tell you for sure how it's going to run. I'm sure you could jimmy rig it to run on the current wiring, but it is the old style and the insulation is coming off in multiple spots. It will need rewired. A modern wiring kit is cheap and easy to install.
BODY
The body is in nice, solid condition for a project. Or use it as a drive, rat rod, rat kustom, or? The car has very little rust and is complete for the most part. There are several extra parts that go with it but I think a trim piece or two is missing. The car has very little rust which I'll detail: The only exterior rust is in each front fender, low in the rear. Same spot on each side. There is no other exterior rust. The front floorpans need rust repair. Not bad, but I would do the whole front foot area. The rear pan does not have rust. Some rust in the trunk floor which is common on these cars. Pretty easy fix or just seal it up and drive it as is. Would be very easy to repair for a ratrod. The body has some dings/dents primarily in the fenders only I believe. The trunklid, hood, doors, frame, rear fenders, roof, cowl, firewall, etc. have not rust-through. nothing even starting. Original paint. No bondo and no sign of a repaint. From what I know about the car, it's all original. It came with the oil bath air cleaner too. Doors open and close. Trunk and hood do too. The car needs new hood latches.

INTERIOR
The interior is all original. It needs restored but the "hard" parts are all in it and not screwed up. It will need upholstery. Seats don't need repair, just re-upholstered. Gauge area is all intact. pictures tell the story i think. I am happy to answer questions though. I have more pics also.
OVERALL
The fastback chevy's from this era are not easy to find in this condition. Most of the ones I have found are complete basket cases, or they have already been restored or customized. This car is in the stage where you can go any direction. Fix and drive as-is, lower with rims for a budget sled, drag car, high end Kustom or rat, woody clone, or? Thanks for looking.
