1958 Chevrolet Impala -- Additional Info:

Large, premium, and powerful, the 1958 Chevrolet Impala is already a desirable classic. So when you find one so boldly finished with a tri-power big block and three-on-the-tree, it makes this the ideal cruising machine. The '58 Impala is a wish list car for a lot of us. After all, Chevy only made this style for one year, and this was the introduction of the range-topping nameplate. So with something this important, we're glad they took the time to get... it looking so right. The coral-colored paint represents the optimistic 1950s perfectly, and the deep gloss of this upgraded paint looks terrific in the sunshine. In fact, the only thing that can outshine the paint is all the brightwork. The intricate full-width grille, full-length side spear, and curvaceous trim that runs the whole rear end until it helps form the tailfins - it's all complete and amazing. Even the details are great, too, on everything from the badging, to the fender skirts, to the color-matched steelies that provide a small coral-colored separation between the whitewalls and factory-correct wheel covers. And yes, this is the car that launched the iconic triple taillight design that the Impala people know to look for. The exterior's coral color returns inside, which is great on a pillarless hardtop like this where people can easily see the full uniform appearance inside and out. And when people do poke their heads inside, they can instantly tell there has been a nice investment in the interior by the way It all feels like-new. The bright seats get a cool tri-tone insert that both breaks up the sea of coral. This is a full-sized Chevy, and so it's no trouble to carry everyone in style and comfort. But no matter how many people are along for the ride, you're going to love the time-warp style feeling from behind the wheel. The two-tone steering wheel matches the dash perfectly. And speaking of the dash, everything is period-correct from extra-long speedometer to the AM radio that's still cranking out the tunes. This very cool period-correct feeling extends to the engine bay, too. The honest-looking black air cleaner is almost hiding the factory beast within. 1958 is a very desirable year because it was the first time the big block V8 was available in passenger cars. If you were really lucky, a 348 cubic-inch motor came with the tri-power (triple two-barrel carburetor) like you see here. This is not the original block for the car, but it's so authentic-looking (right down to the proper generator) that most people will just assume it has been in here since day one. The powerful V8 motor made you the king of the streets, and the dual exhaust had the sound to back it up. Plus, those who were paying attention when ordering also got the three-speed manual transmission. But a car like this was really made for cruising, that's why you also have power steering. Here's a bold single-year icon that has been given all the right investments to stand out in any crowd. Don't let this ideal classic pass you by, call today!
