1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350 Additional Info:

This vehicle has just completed a frame off restoration. There is zero rust anywhere, and the black paint on black vinyl is laser straight. All moldings are Original and in excellent condition. The car is a factory 4 speed early production 1969 SS 350. It is not the original motor in the car, but the motor is a 350 period correct 4 bolt main built with a mild cam, fuelie heads with roller rockers, Holley 600 CFM carb, ceramic coated headers, HEI ignition, and so on. It has an 11 inch Mcleod clutch mated to a 4 speed trans and a 10 bolt rear with 3:08 ratio. It runs strong and is perfectly geared and powered for County route and highway cruise nights to a show. I would approximate the horsepower to be 350-400hp on the engine build. I think that you can see by the pictures that the car is extremely clean and a very nice example. The NJ title reads 41,528 "A" Actual miles, but the brand new GM NOS instrument cluster reads 17 miles and counting since the build completion. This was a nut and bolt restoration just completed a few weeks ago. It has factory original SS wheels/trim rings/center caps with brand new tires. The car was built to an OE type specification and not built as a "Resto-Mod" type of car. It is built as it was in 1969 by the factory, other than improvements like a super torque starter, aluminum radiator, electric cooling fan motor, Optima battery, ceramic coated headers, HEI ignition, upgraded clutch, all things that slightly improve upon what was available in 1969, but keep it within the range of originality. Given the overall paint/body/mechanical condition, this is a perfect candidate to either leave it as it is and enjoy the perfect summer "Cruise Night" reliable Old School Camaro Super Sport, or use it as a perfect foundation for an extreme build in any direction. The hard work on this car is all done and beautiful as is, but if you are looking for a perfect base to build some sort of one off Resto Mod beast, this is an amazingly solid well done example. The interior is mostly original to the car, with a new carpet installed. The miles were low on the car to begin with, and much of the original interior is in good condition and original to the car. Please feel free to inquire with questions and I will answer asap.
I have placed a video of the car running and a walk around on YouTube.
If you search:

It will pop right up. I thought perhaps that would be a good glimpse of the car for those of you interested. Again, if you have any questions, please be in touch and I will do my best to answer accurately and quickly.
I also forgot to mention in my original description, that I never hooked up the radio in this car. I don't want to disappoint anyone in any way. It is an older stereo, but it is all there, even the speakers are all in position, but I never bothered hooking it up, as I would install something more powerful and newer, or just simply never turn it on in the first place. This car is about hearing the roar of the engine and the wind blowing through open windows on a summer cruise, and not a radio blaring to drown out the satisfaction of the car...at least to me. But I don't want anyone disappointed in any way...so, full disclosure, the radio is inoperable at this time, but could be quickly and easily hooked up if you wanted it functioning.
The video is not in High Definition, as YouTube would not download it for me unless I changed to standard definition. But if the video does not give you enough of a sense of the quality of this car in the definition on YouTube, if you email me a phone number that you would like me to forward the original video, perhaps in better definition, please say the word and I will get it accomplished for you.
Let me know if you would like to come see it as well.
Thank you
John

I had a question/comment today questioning the authenticity of this car as to whether it is, or is not, a true Super Sport. The comment was that the car does not have a 12 bolt rear and the hood is non louvered, therefore impossible to be a true Super Sport. I want everyone to know that I have absolutely nothing to hide here. I did see in attempting myself to unravel the early build 1969 cars with pre X code cowl tags, that some 1969 cars could come with the 10 bolt rear, but I have no idea about the hoods all being louvered. It is the rear and the hood that I purchased the car with. I could have easily gone out and purchased a louvered hood and 12 bolt rear during this build. It is not my intention to "trick" or "deceive" anyone out there, so please take these things into consideration when bidding. I knew the second owner of this car, and I am the third. His story was that it was a true SS, but that the rear was changed out for better fuel economy back in the late 1970's when the car was used as a daily driver and fuel was scarce with the Iranian Oil Crisis. He is an associate that I have known for 30 years and I trust what he told me, but in no way am I trying to play any games or trick anyone into anything here with this car. If I could prove this was a true SS 350, if I had documentation in the build sheet and the original engine in the car that proved its heritage, then given the restoration quality and the fact that there is documentation with a clear title that the car has 41,528 original miles on it, and only 17 miles on a restoration with all GM factory parts, then my Buy it now may be more like $60,000 rather than $34,000.
Even if you want to consider this car a Tribute car, and not an original SS 350, that is okay with me. The price is set very fair regardless, and I hope that most of you would agree with that.
Again, not trying to be deceitful or tricky or anything resembling someone attempting to misrepresent or take advantage of anything. This car is stunningly beautiful, very well done, and I do believe it was originally a Super Sport, but as my ad originally mentioned, it is an early production 1969 and there is no way to tell what the car was without the build sheet and the original engine, neither of which did I claim to possess.
Thank you for the interest in the car. I appreciate it.
John
