1968 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:

Investment quality car as it is a matching numbers SS396 starting with a near rust free West Texas car.
Has the rare factory optioned deluxe Buick interior as coded 766-178 on the trim tag. Only offered for about 3 weeks in April of 1968 due to a shortage of chevelle interior.
Car still retains its original drivetrain. Engine, trans and rear end all have the Cars VIN stamped on them.
Engine is a 396/325 hp and was rebuilt in the early 2000's. Bored .030. Heads were freshened up 4 years ago. Engine runs good. Starts every time and very reliable. Has good exhaust sound. Has had headers and an HEI added. Front disc brakes and power steering were added.
Trans is the matching VIN stamped Muncie M-20 with a Hurst shifter. New clutch about 4 years ago. Shifts perfectly.
Rear End is the original VIN stamped 12 bolt positrac with 3:23 gears.
Body has all of the original panels. Almost rust free. Just a few pin holes in the trunk. Floors are perfect. Car had a few dings repaired but no rust. Trunk still has the original splatter paint. New bumpers and emblems.
Interior had new seat covers added and new carpet Door panels are original and very nice. Has bucket seats, console with factory tach and gauges. Has some small speakers in the kick panels.
Paint was originally mountain green but changed over to 68 Chevelle Bolero Red. PPG base coat/clear coat. Fit and finish is very nice. The only flaws on the paint are some very slight blister marks on the quarter above the wheel well mouldings. It has been there since it was painted.
Car needs a few things finished:
Tach is not hooked up. Missing the radio. Antenna needs installed. Front seat belts need installed. Dash is presentable but could use a repaint. I ded not install the lower rocker trim. I have it and it could easily be reinstalled and the lowers painted black.
This is an excellent car that is a very good buy. In my opinion you are getting a matching numbers car for the price of a non original motor car. Still needs some small things but is ready to drive and enjoy.
