1971 Chevrolet C-10 Additional Info:

The truck up for auction is a 1971 Chevrolet C-10 half ton two wheel drive pick up. The vin number is CS141S640405. The truck shows 34k on the odometer but it is believed to be 134k. I am listing for a technologically impaired friend who has owned the pick up since 5-26-1992 and asked me to list it for him. The truck has a good clean title from the state of Missouri where they live. The truck was driven into their building in 1999 (note the last year plated was 1999) and has not been started or moved since. The motor ran good at that time and the Air Conditioning worked at that time. This truck is screaming father son project and is well worth saving. Please note that the owner wanted to keep his wheels from the truck. I have put roller wheels on the truck but the wheels on the truck in the picture on the trailer do NOT go with this truck. They are in his garage now.
In trying to list this truck for them, I will give you the best description I can. Please feel free to contact me via text or phone if you have specific questions or would like s better picture I can text you.
The trucks drivetrain is a V-8 believed to be the original 350 cubic inch motor with I believe a 350 turbo transmission. I have no way to verify if this is actually the original motor. I could not get to the engine casting number on the back of the block while it is still in the truck. I was able to get the engine stamp off the block in front of the passenger side cylinder head. It is listed below. The truck has aftermarket York under dash air conditioning. The truck has power steering as well.Engine stampF0516 CEM
Intake 3916313
York aftermarket air conditioning compressor.
I always try to list the good as well as the bad on any thing I list. Any time a vehicle is parked for a long period of time such as this, it is not easy on the vehicle. This truck sitting for almost two decades, you can expect to have a large project to get it back on the road. The fuel system will need to be addressed, the brakes will need looked at, the electrical needs to be inspected, the tires are only rollers as the old wheels the owner wanted to keep but you will need to inspect those as well.
The body on the truck is fairly solid. The paint was an old lacquer paint from the late 80’s. I see blue underneath it on the front clip and the seat belts in the interior are blue so I suspect the truck started life blue. I see in the areas around the door handles where the paint has peeled. The reason for the peel is some mud cracked behind the paint. I see no evidence of any need for the mud as the metal underneath looks great. I think it was just an inexperienced body man who completed the paint work back then and decided he should coat a light coat of mud. The sill plates are usually literally gone on this year truck. There is some rust through but much better than most I see. The frame looks great as do much of the floor. There is some floor metal work to be done but could be much worse. The truck bed had a tonneau cover on it and has mostly light surface rust with a few deeper areas. Over all, not too bad. The passenger door I was able to open but the handle needs lubricant as do the vent windows and just about everything else. Like I said, it is a project. It will need to be towed to your location. You may not drive it, it needs work
