1967 Marlboro Maroon Corvette Convertible.Very sharp small block Convertible. Fantastic driver!Marlboro Maroon w/Saddle interior, 327/300hp, 4-spd. manual transmission Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. Is it “the last of the best”? Or “the best of the last”? That is the question many might ask about the final production year of the second generation Corvette aka the mid-years. The ’67 C2 shouldn’t even exist! If it wasn’t for the fact that the new C3 Shark bodied Corv...ette wasn’t quite ready for prime time, ’66 would have been the last year for the mid-year body style. But, as fate would have it, the C2 continued for one more glorious year and the rest is history . . .With the values of vintage Corvettes increasing, many owners are choosing to restore their cars. And as a result, there’s less and less of the nice “driver quality” Corvettes to be found. But what happens after all the work is done . . . ? You end up with a perfect piece of rolling sculpture that inevitably will sit in the owner’s garage waiting for an enclosed trailer to take it to a car show. Or maybe a very short spin around the block before it’s carefully stowed away until the next event. We don’t necessarily think there’s anything wrong with enjoying your Corvette that way. But, the real beauty of these mid-years is in the driving experience! And if a driving experience is what you’re after, this example should definitely be on your short list! There is still a fair amount of originality left in this one, with its matching #’s 327/300hp small block and even some original paint still on the body. But the best part is all the great options that make it such a cool driver. They include; power disc brakes, power steering, side exhaust, a factory looking modern AM/FM stereo, Bolt-on wheels wrapped with Red Line radial tires and a Vintage a/c system that actually blows cold air! It’s nice and sharp! but, not too nice to drive and you can drive it anywhere in comfort! We’ve owned this ’67 in the past and can attest to how nice a mid-year it is!
