1972 Chevrolet Blazer K5 Additional Info:

Here we have a 1972 Chevrolet Blazer looking for a loving home. This is a 4 wheel drive that originally came with a 350 but now has a 292 ci straight 6. The 350 went into an el camino 35 years ago. The guy I bought this Blazer from bought it in 1976. In fact it still has the license plates on it from when he first registered it. It has sat the better part of the last 40 years. It was used a little way back in the latter 1970's. The owner had then found a nicer cst Blazer back then and parked this one, driving it once in awhile but rarely. Once I got it home, I went through and completely tuned up the 6 banger. All new plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, points, complete carb soaking and rebuild, all new fuel lines, hoses, belts, battery, fuel pump, thermostat, air cleaner, oils, etc. etc. It start and runs really well. Those motors never seem to die. Also I changed all of the antifreeze. The body is in exceptionally rust free condition. I attribute this to it's lack of being driven all those years. A quick run down on corrosion:The drivers outer rocker will need changed, its not bad but they are easy to replace, also where the passenger side seat catch bolts to the floor, it has bubbled up there a little. Which is strange, i've never seen one do that. There is a tiny little spot on the drivers quarter panel up against the back side of the rocker panel. It's not visible from inside the rear wheel area. very small. That's basically it to speak of. The passenger rocker has a little decay where the weatherstripping hooks onto, nothing that would warrant changing the rocker. The front fenders, inner fenders are rust free, doors are good inside and out and along the bottom, passenger quarter is rust free, all of the cargo floor and the rest of the front floors are all rust free, core support, windshield frame, cowl panel, firewall is all good. I had the inner fenders out to inspect the inner body area and everything is rock solid. Also the rocker boxes, body mounts, entire frame front to back is all beautiful. The truck was Ochre yellow when it was new. The previous owner told me he couldn't stand it so he had it painted way back. There is cleanly no bodywork under the cream paint. There are dents and dings here and there but I see no evidence of filler anywhere. The tailgate is really nice too.The top is damage free except for the passenger rear corner where it rounds the quarter panel. There is a little chunk broken there. The hatch has cracks and damage, it's no gem but it's there. All of the hatch and top hardeware is there. All of the glass is intact and is good. The front bumper is a very nice original.I got all of the door and fender gaps straightened out and doors opening and closing real nicely. I also replaced every light bulb in the truck, the headlight switch too. The radio hole is uncut, as are the doors, no speaker holes. Oh yeah, the kick panels are not rusted either. The seats were all gone, it had a chevelle drivers seat in it. I added a good solid set of original Blazer seats front and rear. All of the sliders are there and in good shape. Passenger seat latches and works great. The rear seat is complete as well other than the ashtrays. Clearly they all need re upholstered but the frames are all rock solid and straight which is what's important. I also replaced the ignition switch and the lock cylinder as the ignition keys were lost. The brakes all work as they should, tires arn't new but they are good. I had them and the wheels laying around. The previous owner lost the title many years ago, so this Blazer is being sold on a Bill of Sale. Some states don't require titles on I think it's 1975 and older vehicles. It's not a big deal to get one. The vin tag, frame vin numbers, glove box SPID and drivers door vin's all match. This Blazer is clearly a restoration project, it is mostly complete. You won't have to spend the first month of your restoration fixing rust with this one. Also if you want to put a nice little LS motor in it, change the color, whatever you want to do, you won't have to feel bad about discarding a bunch of good parts. I thought about redoing the seats, carpet, etc. but I figured I would let the new owner pick his or her colors of choice. There is no Chinese junk on this truck. It is still all GM.Please only bid on this truck if you intend to own it. Ask questions ask first before bidding. I have done a lot more to this truck than iv'e mentioned here, I just can't think of everything off the top of my head.Almost all of the Blazers i've sold on here sell before the auction ends, so if you are interested and serious, make an offer! I'm easy to work with. I know that 24 pictures is not very many, so if you want to see anything else on the truck feel free to ask, I can take as many as you'd like. There is a reserve but it's low. It's on here to sell. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping costs. Happy bidding!!
