1989 Chevrolet Caprice Additional Info:

The perfect Cottage Car! Nantucket, Harbor Springs, Montauk...this is the ideal car to drive into any of these towns this summer. Bought this car to enjoy, but have decided the race track is where our interest lies.
This is a 1-owner California car with a perfect body, in great mechanical condition and in classic period colors. The following is a condition summary:
Exterior: No dents, dings or scratches. The only paint flaw is a couple of minor chips on the leading edge of the hood. The plastic molding between the rear bumper and tailgate is cracked (see photo). No bubbling, tears, or fading on the "wood" paneling or the trim pieces that surround it. All panels fit properly, and the doors and tailgate function as from the factory. No pitting on the chrome bumpers, C Pillar (brushed aluminum piece) or roof rack.
Interior: Overall very clean. The headliner does not sag, there is no excessive wear on the seats. No cracks on the dash, or any of the panels. All electrical items (door locks, windows, etc.) work. The carpet is in good condition, but not perfect (see photos). It looks like no one ever sat in the rear facing 3rd row seat. The only issue with the interior is that the radio speakers do not work on the right side (channel issue). However, this car deserves to have a better sound system (not a new radio, which would ruin its authenticity...just the behind the scenes speakers).
Mechanical: We spent a couple thousand dollars to go through the car and fix little items that were annoying. So, it has new shocks, fresh fluids, wheel alignment, etc. Other than a leak in the A/C unit, there are no mechanical issues at all.
Driving & Overall Impression: This car floats down the road in classic 1980's American comfort. It can be steered with 1 finger due to the over-assist of the power steering. I recently drove this car to a dinner with serious car industry guys - people who judge concours across the country - and it was the hit of the party. This car attracts attention from everyone from Porsche Club (PCA) members to people who grew up making faces at drivers from the rear facing 3rd row seat.
