1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Additional Info:

Up for auction is a 1990 Chevrolet ZR1 Corvette project car. I’ll start with why it's a project;this one owner car had been brought to a major oil change business to be serviced. Now a regular 5.7 take 5 quarts of oil, but not so with this LT5 375 HP lotus designed engine; it takes 8.50 quarts; but the “oil experts” were oblivious to this fact! So they put only 5 quarts in the crankcase, and sent it down the road.So after a few miles, the owner noticed that engine was losing power, and then it quit running altogether. The end result is a crankshaft that just won’t turn over.

Up to this point, the owner had done a lot to the ZR1; including a new magna flow exhaust system,a unique ground effects kit, a brand a new interior & new weather stripping. The car has also been well maintained, as the ball joints have been replaced along with the rubber bushings and just about everything in the suspension.

You would never guess by looking at the car that it has 212,000 miles on the odometer. That ismainly because there was some big money put into this car over the years to keep it in good condition. But as with all twenty-seven year old cars this one does have flaws, which can be seen in the photos & videos.

To correct the engine problem, the Corvette comes with a complete 1991 LT5 short block with under 19,000 miles on it. So, with some good mechanical skills along with the indispensible shop manual, it shouldn’t take long for some dedicated car guys to get the ZR1 back on the road again.

The car comes with the original owners manual, along with the original Temporary Operating Permit that was placed on the Corvette’s windshield when it was brand new, and the original Certificate of Title; all of which show traceability back to the original owner.

This is a no reserve auction, which means that every bid counts! So this is your chance to own a very sought after “King of The Hill” ZR1 Corvette!
