My 1962 Corvair Monza 900 Convertible is looking for a new home.

3 Speed Manual, 102hp, aka the normally-aspirated High Performance motor. I've owned this beautiful rust-free car for 15 years. I brought it home from Colorado in 2003. Garaged-stored always - including 15 yrs in my A/C'd garage. Since I've owned, it's never spent the night outside. 102,400 miles. It's a true survivor, with its original engine/drive train, neither of which has ever been removed. It's a groovy dream to drive, and, of course, ALL heads turn when driven by. As you'll see in the fotos here (links below to 70 more fotos and video), it's a uniquely beautiful car.

Paint: VERY well-prepped older repaint. Contains imperfections, and many touched-up scratches from over the years, including a touched up quarter-sized chip on the engine lid edge (see picture).
Body/Floor, etc: Zero Rust. Fortunately, a Colorado car, entirely rust-proofed back in the day (Ziebart, etc). Engine compartment also zero rust, including battery box.
Brakes - Rebuilt wheel cylinders, replaced brake hoses, brake shoes, converted to dual-chamber master cylinder.
Chassis - Replaced F & R shocks.
Engine/Drive Train: Small Leak at main seal. Most noticeable when car is not run regularly. I've used the same piece of cardboard for 10 years - still intact. Minimal effect on oil level, certainly not enough to consider removal/rebuild, etc. Pushrod tube seals were Viton-replaced 7 yrs ago. Transmission shifts perfectly. Replaced Gear Oil several years ago with Amsol high-grade lubricant. Also, when tunnel was opened, shifter linkages were cleaned/lubricated and transmission input shaft seal replaced. Replaced U-joints / rear wheel bearings - both strongly recommended on all '60-'62 cars. Replaced muffler.
Electrical / Lighting - All systems/circuits excellent (Starting/charging/ignition/lighting, etc). Rebuilt Generator, replaced V/R (original AC Delco V/R included), Petronix electronic ignition. Battery is approx 4 yrs old. Original radio in excellent condition. Remember the "civil defense markers" on the dial? Upgraded to dual-style speaker. Replaced all light lenses, including parking/front turn lenses. Upgraded yellow hi-beams. All interior and exterior lamps work perfectly. Added headlight warning chime circuit (best project ever). Interior & instrument lamps replaced with LED. As a Monza 900, the car is equipped with a two-speed wiper/washer and *cigarette lighter* – if you're under 30, you may not believe me*. Instrument panel is original with the addition of a well-placed Tach... very handy to have, but most importantly... it looks so cool :-)
Fuel - Replaced fuel tank, rebuilt carburetors, replaced fuel pump, added primary stage fuel filter.
Glass - Replaced windshield and Seal. Original windows clear and in excellent condition (see picture).
Interior - Mostly original. Replaced carpet, front seats partially reupholstered. Replaced kick panels. Original front door panels, visors, rear seat, rear armrests, and all cranks/handles. Convertible top replaced approx 20 yrs ago. In VG condition due to indoor storage - no tears. Permanent convertible tape repair along new binding (see picture). Replaced binding and end caps. Rear Window is supple and approx 80% transparent (see picture). When top replaced, owner left the original worn side pads in place (see picture) - Although only visible from inside, still an odd decision, so they remain until the new owner is ready to replace current top down the road. All bows and hardware in exc. condition. Period seat/lap belts in Exc. Condition. Why a picture of the shift knob? Original 3-speed pattern knobs (and repros) are virtually impossible to find. I actually caught one unfortunate soul trying to remove my shift knob at a car show (He wasn't successful). Included is a shift knob made from a #11 billiard ball (red/white!). I use it when the car is publicly parked.
Wheels/Tires - Original 2-prong spinner wire wheel covers in VG condition. Whitewall tires in Exc. condition. Spare is also excellent, but, not a match with the 4 installed tires.
Trim - Bumpers and optional bumper guards VG - Exc. All trim and emblems are VG-excellent. Original rocker panel covers and door sill plates in VG condition. Headlight bezels are VG - Exc. Very rare stainless headlight "Stone Guards" are in exc condition, and look GREAT over the headlights. Replaced all rubber - door weather seals, trunk, engine lid, and engine compartment rubber heat seals. Original rear grill is Fair - Good condition. They're rare and expensive.. used for 1962 only. Most folks replace these with the 1964 style, which is readily available. I'm a 'semi-purist', so I kept the original grill!

The car will include lots of extra goodies and accessories - OEM hubcaps, lenses, fuses, complete shop manual set, spare bezels, factory keys, etc. Plus... the all-important #11 billiard ball!
