1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS454 Z20 Additional Info:

1971 Monte Carlo SS 454 factory Z20 car. Factory Nevada Silver with black bucket seat interior, console, factory tach and gauge package, F41, LS-5 454-365 h.p, M-40 Turbo 400, 12 bolt with 3:31 posi, factory air,p/s,and power disc brakes. I have owned the car since October of 1988 and bought it from the original owners son. The car was bought new here in Illinois at Tom Edwards Chevrolet in Elmhurst, Illinois and traveled between here and Texas. At some point the original engine was swapped with a CE short block. I eventually found another factory correct and dated engine with the CPD code but out of a 1971 Chevelle SS built the same week and month as my car,( I also have the protect o plate for this engine). I then had the engine rebuilt and installed it the car and the engine has under a 1000 miles. ALL THE CASTING DATES ARE 100 % TO THE BUILD DATE OF THE CAR. THEY MATCH THE DATES FROM CE ENGINE HEADS,INTAKE, DISTRIBUTOR. THE ONLY DATE THAT IS OFF IS THE STARTER BUT IS THE CORRECT 430 STARTER. THE CARB IS CORRECT AND WAS REBUILT/REPLATED.I have the CE engine but it is not included with the sale of the car. In the mid 80's the car was repainted but poor prep work eventually showed through. The paint is checked and cracked, the rear window leaked and was not addressed so it has your typical rust at the lower quarter, the right fender looks to have had a patch installed also. The car was Ziebarted from new so all the floors and trunk are solid, the car will need to stripped and the rust issues addressed to be show quality, right now it's a enjoyable 20 foot driver. The car rides excellent, the air is all intact and will work if charged. I have the ride level controller in the trunk and did not reinstall after I put the NOS inner fender wheel skirts in. I've replaced the vinyl top and rear package shelf and front windshield, ***THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND BACK GLASS WAS RESEALED WHEN THIS WAS DONE. The bright work on the car is exceptional and the interior is original down to the carpet, the pass bucket has a split in the bottom seam and can be sewn back together if desired. The brakes and shocks were also replaced when I did the engine, The car is very dependable driver and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I have rated the car between a # 3 and number # 4 condition car. It has it's weak as well as it's strong points so I combined the two and priced the car accordingly. All the gauges work including the clock ( intermittent however ) and the door key buzzer also. The documents I have are the window sticker, protect o plate, dealer brochure, build sheets and owners manual. This will be a local pick up or you will have to make your own arrangements for transport. I have stripped a couple of these cars over the years so I have options like a tilt wheel, power windows, rear defog, map light mirror, and I believe I may have a fiber optic washer system * I have to look to confirm. These are available to the new owner and can be discussed outside of the sale of the if the new owner desires these options. If you have 0 feedback then please contact me before making your offer. I want to sell the car and not have to chase after a non paying buyer or scammer. There are 24 pictures and 3 you tube videos ** (Excuse the sniffles, I took the video in the winter and on my phone so it's not the greatest but you get the idea) so there are more than enough pictures to make a educated decision or form an opinion of the car. If you are going to have the car inspected for appraisal before your purchase then I recommend you send me someone who is educated as the last time I had the car inspected by a potential buyer I had to educate the appraiser.
Thank you for stopping and viewing my car.
