1965 Chevrolet Corvette Classic Collector Convertible Additional Info:

This vehicle is for the person who is looking for a vehicle that meets and exceeds the requirements of the new Sixth Edition of the NCRS Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide. The multi year frame off restoration was carefully photoed and documented. The care and attention to details was a time consuming process. It was awarded Top Flight at a chapter meet in 2013 and two more years were spent to fine tune the missing details required in the new 6th Edition Guide before it was judged at the Ontario CanadaRegional meet in 2016 where a 97+% was awarded. Following that meet additional minor details were corrected. I have the NCRS Shipping Report. I am the third owner. The first owner only owned it for several months. The car was delivered to alocalChevy dealer and has remained in the Rochester NY area since delivery from St.Louis.

INTERIOR.

This vehicle has it's complete originalinterior, making it one of the veryfew and rare Corvette's of it's age. It has all the original carpet and blackvinyl dashpads, seat covers, doorpanels, sunvisors, seat belts,arm rest and clear floor mats. All the interior knobs,doorpulls and fasteners are original. It has an original teakwood steering wheel,AM/ FM radio andreconed speaker. The original gauges and clock have been restored and re screened. The original glove box door was also restored. All of the glove box literature [Plastic envelop,Owners Manual with a full card,AM/FM radio instruction sheet and pocketguide, knock off wheel card, bag and hard top wrench is original except the Warranty book which is NOS. Thejack, handle and retaining spring and KO hammer are all original. The KO hammer is NOS.

ENGINE.

All of the original engine parts were professionally rebuilt. This includes theblock [the stamp pad wasre stamped during a factory warranty rebuild],heads, intake,carb, alternator, fuel pump,distributor and starter. The following items wereprofessionally restored: valvecovers, exhaustmanifolds,heatshields, air cleanerlid, oil pan,carb, radiatorcap, voltage regulator and horn relay.I purchased a NOS distributor cap. The oil dip stick and tube are original.Original water pump was rebuilt.Thebattery is a correct style reproduction. The engines performance is exceptional and will not disappoint in anymanor.

EXTERIOR.

Both tops are original The hardtop is in excellentcondition and was a zero point deduction at regional judging. The original soft top had some minor pointdeductions, but considering it's age it is in very good condition.Theun hit body underwent a completeprofessional restoration starting withcomplete strippingof the old paint and primer. Months were spent on the bodysurface before primer and paint was applied.I have 5 original correctly dated Kelsey Hayes knock off wheels that wereprofessionally restored. The original cones and center caps are in excellent condition and the adopters were re plated. Five correct 7.75 x15" OEM brand reproduction white wall tires were mounted on the KO wheels. I also have 4 correct KelseyHayes steel wheel with 4 radial tires and hubcaps which I use for non judging driving.The original bumpers were re chromed The original grill,rocker panelsand moldings were professionally restored. All theglass, windshield,vent and side windows are original.The wiper arms were restored and NOS wiper blades were purchased.The original antenna was restored and a NOS bezel and nut were purchased.All the emblems are NOS.The original spare tire tub and lid are in excellentcondition and the V strap was restored.Both sets of keys are stamped with the lock numbers. All of the bumper bolts are original and have been re plated asare all of the other original fasteners which are toonumerous to itemize.

CHASSIS

Thefoundation, the frame and suspension parts were all professionally restored to preserve this vehicle for year to come. The frame was completely disassembled. The suspension partswere also disassembled. . Theparts were acid dipped . The frame was painted with epoxy primer and then with semi gloss Imron. The inside of the frame was sealed with a rust preventative. The upper and lower A-arms were restored with new bushings and riveted ball joints. The original frontspindles, steering knuckles and dust shields were zinc plated and reassembled with therestoredhardware. The rotors are new and the calipers withinsulatorsare stainless sleeved and were installed on the front and rear.The trailingarms are new with the original zinc plated spindles,yokes and dustshields and riveted new rotors. The parking brake hardware is stainless.The power brake master cylinder wasprofessionallyrebuilt. The brake and fuel lines are stainless. The core support,radiator and shroud are allrestored original parts,The oilpan,filter,drain plug and starter are restored originals. The original transmission was professionally restored and rebuilt.The tailpipes are original theexhaust pipe and mufflers are replacement.The rear end is 3.70 gear ratio and the rear carrier and cover were zinc plated beforethe professional reassembly.The driveshaft and half shafts were zinc plated before new u-joint were professionally installed.The new fuel tank is a correctreplacement with the original sending unit. The suspension is better than new since many of thecomponents were zinc plated to prevent rust.

You will find other cars priced for less money, but you are buying an investment built to last your life time regardless of your age. I will deduct $12,000 if you are not interested in the knock off wheels, tires and hammer.
