1963 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Additional Info:

Aunt Doris was the proudest woman alive when she drove into our driveway in New Braunfels, Texas with her new 1963 BelAir; and rightfully so being it was her first showroom new car. Also, it was the first car she had driven that she didn't have to manually shift.
What a dream it was for her to cruise to the grocery store with automatic transmission, and dealer installed air conditioning.
I recall how she babied that BelAir: It took her barely a month to decide to install a set of clear, embossed plastic seat covers to protect the beautiful blue cloth upholstery. Seldom did a Saturday go by that she didn't hand wash and vacuum the car.
As the years took their toll on Aunt Doris, her vision began to fail and she had trouble backing out of her parking space at the grocery store without denting the quarter panels, so twice she had them both replaced by the selling dealership's body shop (Krueger Chevrolet)
Finally, in 1985 her failing vision prevented her from driving the car at all but she refused to sell her beloved BelAir and let it sit stoically parked under the carport. Some days you could see her just sitting in the car with the motor running with the air conditioner on in the Texas summer heat.
Eventually, Aunt Doris passed through the Pearly Gates and the car continued to sit outdoors until 2013....or so the story goes.
I acquired the BelAir in 2013 and thoroughly rebuilt the original numbers matching 283 cubic inch V-8 with a new water pump, fuel pump and fuel tank. The original Powerglide transmission shifts flawlessly and the manual brakes works like new.
I have put about 1,800 miles on the car's new tires, shock absorbers and brakes.
Remaining original are:Paint (most of it)Seat Fabric (but it is fragile due to it's age)HeadlinerAll Glass - (flawless)RadioExhaust92,605 original milesSurface rust onlyThe BelAir has been a lot of fun to cruise around in and I seriously considered new paint and interior but my nostalgic tendencies preferred the aura of the car's originality and I opted to leave it as it is.
The car comes with a "clear" Blue Texas Title in my name without liens.
Year Of Manufacture (1963) license plates good til 3/18
