1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Additional Info:

Up for sale is an original Lemans Blue 1969 SS 396 4speed Chevy Chevelle. Purchased from 3rd owner whom owned since 1995 and he purchased from original owner's grandson. All original body panels with exclusion of hoodwhich has been replaced. Minor rust in lower fenders and quarters around wheel lips but has rust free floors, trunk and rockers. Most of paint looks to be original. It is an original 396 4spd car, but currently has a high performance 350 small block with turbo 400automatic. Original motor blown years ago and transmission was swapped out for an automatic by prior owner due to Colorado mountain driving conditions. Has original 12 bolt rear, power front disc brakes and power steering. Includes originalmanual transmission console plates, wiring, pedals, z-barand linkage and Muncie 4spd shifter so it can be switched back to a manual transmission if you care to do so. The car runs and drives well but needs exhaust repaired before driven regularly since it has a section missing behind header damaged by transporter. Windshield is cracked, but all other glass is good.
Body: The body is in original unmodified condition. All original body panels with exclusion of hood which has been replaced. Has had some prior collision repair in passenger rear quarter panel. Minor rust in lower fenders and around wheel lips on quarter panels which is pictured. I've only noticed a couple pin holes on roof close to windshield from vinyl top but rest looks solid. Rust free floors, trunk and rockers. There are a couple pinholes in pan beneath rear seat caused by leak around rear window but rest of floors are amazingly rust free. No repairs have been made to floors or trunk either. The body is actually very nice and can be easily repaired with inexpensive patch panels.
Interior: The original seats have been professionally reupholstered using Legendary brand seat covers, new foam and burlap and new seat backs to top them off. Original tach dash with gauges. Have a new glovebox latch assembly, glovebox liner and rear package tray which will be included with sale. Still needs new carpet, headliner, door panels and steering wheel center to finish off the interior.
Drivetrain: Was originally equipped with a 396/325hp big block and 4spd manual transmission, but currently has a high performance 350 small block and turbo 400 automatic. The original motor was blown years back and long gone. The current 350 small block in it has high compression double hump heads, aluminum high rise intake and runs very well. The prior owner also swapped out the 4 speed for an automatic due to being less work during Colorado mountain driving. Have the original z-bar, linkage and Muncie shifter which will be included if new owner wants to switch back to a manual which I planned to do along with a big block. Still has original 12 bolt rear end. Sale does NOT include a big block or manual transmission.
Wheels and tires: Still has the original SS wheels and decent BF Goodrich tires.
