1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Coupe 2-Door Additional Info:

Up for sale is my 1971 Chevrolet Camaro. This car started off life as a very nice rust free car. The previous owner had the car professionally built at AW Racecars with the intention of using it as a street / drag car with no expense spared. I have mainly used this car as an occasional cruiser and show car, with the occasional trip to the drag strip. This car shows very well and the body is laser straight. The paint shows two small imperfections where the rear quarters were stretched but they spots are not noticeable unless pointed out. The car is all steel with the exception of the hood and the car has all of the original glass in it.
The car has a NHRA cert roll cage (8.50) made of tig welded Chrome moly tubing and the welds look perfect. The frame is connected front to rear. The rear of the car was tubbed to fit big tires which the car currently has fairly new Goodyear slicks. The tin work is beautiful and tight fitting with no gaps (It was a shame to cover it up with carpet!). The front suspension is stock with the exception of the new double adjustable shocks. The rear of the car has a Fab 9 housing with Strange center section and axles (5.13 gear), four link adjustable with anti-roll bar. The rear shocks are double adjustable AFCO's. All four coil overs are brand new this summer. The rear axle also sports Willwood brakes with the front being GM disc.
The engine is 454 block recently built to 496 ci. This is a high compression engine 14.2:1 and requires 112 octane fuel. The heads are iron GM heads ported and polished. The engine is topped off with a Holley XP Dominator 1150 carb. I just recently added a Nitrous Express Hitman kit but have not used it yet. The engine was dynoed last fall at 725 hp. The car may have 4 quarter mile passes and 7 eighth mile passes on the new motor. The trans is a 2 speed Powerglide which was also just rebuilt one month ago. I had it rebuilt because I also installed a new ATI 5200 stall converter at a Turbo 400 shaft. I have all the receipts and dyno sheets that can go with the sale. The Be-Cool radiator keeps this car amazingly cool and never runs over 180 even on a 90 degree day.
As you can see this car has a full interior with Aluminum Kirkey racing seats. The steering wheel has a quick release with the original style column. The spark is provided by a MSD 7al-3. The car has a trans brake and line lock. The nitrous is properly wired in and will not activate when the trans brake is on. I ran the car last year with the new motor and it ran consistant 10.2. After new shocks and torque converter I have not yet run quarter mile but ran 6.55 in 1/8th motor only. This car has been scaled and launchs and drives straight as an arrow. As I stated before there was expense spared on putting this car together and the pictures do not do this car justice. I also have the front bumper and a set of street slicks that will also be included in the sale. You will not be disappointed with the quality of work done to this car whether your using it for a show car or drag car.
