1968 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:

Hello and thanks for taking time to look at this sweet Corvette. I will keep the BS to a minimum, but I will provide the fullest and most accurate description that I can. Please note this is a 3 DAY LISTING.
I purchased this car in November of 2015. From the receipts that I have from the previous owner, he had the car at least since 2006. When I bought the car I was single and lived in town. Now I have a family of three and I live in the country I'm on a paved road, but have a very long non paved driveway. That is the motivation for me to sell the car. It's too nice and too small for my lifestyle now. And.. I have two project cars that really need a cash infusion. Now on to the car.
The car has been in the desert at least since 2006. The previous owner lives in the Phoenix area and I am in southern New Mexico. It appears that this car is a mix of restoration efforts as well as a mix of well preserved original parts. The odometer shows 25K miles. I bought it as an original mileage car. The Arizona title stated actual mileage, as does the New Mexico title. I have no paper trail to back this up, no owner history, etc... Please give this as much weight as you wish. It's a very nice car, regardless of the true mileage.
Details: The beautiful Corvette now sports a GM Crate Engine. I have the receipt for the work completed. It appears to the 330 HP engine. It has an Edelbrock 600 carb and a polished intake. This engine was installed in 2012 and the odometer reading was 18xxx. it also has an electric fuel pump. At the time the engine was replaced, a new flywheel was installed as well as new plug wires and intake and exhaust gaskets. In March of this year the alternator gave up. I replaced it with a 1 wire unit from Jegs. This alternator starts charging when the engine rpm reaches 800. Unlike other 1 wire units, this one keeps charging, even when the car goes back to an idle. I also installed a new battery when I replaced the alternator. The factory external voltage regulator is still in place, its unplugged.
Transmission: This is an original 4 speed car. I cannot attest that the transmission is original to the car I haven't taken the time to look at the numbers. The transmission shifts great and the clutch is firm. The clutch and transmission were serviced three years ago. According to the receipt, a new clutch was installed, the flywheel surfaced and new shift forks were installed in the transmission. New seals were installed as well.
Rear Suspension. in 2009 the trailing arms were sent to a place in Michigan to be rebuilt. I have a copy of the work done. The parts were inspected, blasted and painted. They were reassembled and set up per GM specs. It's apparent that is place knew what they were doing. The half shafts appear new or rebuilt as well.
Everything else: It looks like the power steering was updated with new parts in 2007. There is a receipt for a new gas tank as well. The carpet has been replaced, along with the outside mirrors. The exhaust on this car rocks. It can't be too old, because it looks so good. It sounds freaking awesome. I think it has flow masters on it. I have a folder of documents for all of the work, which will of course go with the car.
This a a great weekend car show, cars and coffee or even daily drive to work car. The paint shows very well. I know nothing about the paint, so all I can tell you is it looks good from a foot away. There are minor imperfections in that paint, but one must look closely to find them. Given that there is no evidence of new seat cover, door panels or top, I suspect they are original. Who knows, maybe this car sat indoors for many years. Thus the low mileage. This car starts on the first try and runs really well, top down fun for sure. The convertible top is in nice condition, there are no rips or tears.
What works on the car:
Drive line functions as it should, with NO LEAKS
The brakes are factory and good as gold, no pulling or squeaking. The parking brake works as well.
All of the gauges work, the clock is right twice a day and the mechanical tachometer gets a little goofy over about 3500 rpm
The headlights pop up as they should.
The turn signals work
The convertible top frame is in very good condition. It raises and lowers with ease.
The tires are BFG's and have tons of tread left.
Wanna a car that you can have shipped to your door, get in a go cruising in? This is it.
Here's what i know may need attention at some point. These are little tings that I haven't felt warranted my time.
This is a FACTORY AIR car. The system is sealed and the compressor turns freely. The belt was off when I bought the car. I bought a belt to put on and decided I'd rather sit on my butt and watch baseball. The belt is included in the sale. The HVAC fan does not come on. I have not investigated this. It could be as simple as a disconnected wire when the carpet was replaced. the interior lights don't work. There is no radio antenna, just a nice chrome plug. So i don't know about the radio. The wiper door does not open. I haven't messed with this stuff because I live in the desert and have 350 days a year of sunshine.
To recap. This is a 1968 Corvette Convertible. Factory small block four speed car that now has a crate motor. PS/PB A/C car with both tops.
The title is clean but there is a lien holder. There will be a lien release with the title when you pick up your new Corvette.
This car isn't perfect but given what "project cars" are being listed for, I think this car is a great value. I am listing the car for THREE DAYS as I am highly motivated to sell it. I am not desperate, but very motivated. If you've been considering an older Corvette you should pull the trigger on this car.
I will assist with shipping as far as making the car available at a terminal if needed. All costs and arrangements to be the responsibility of the new owner.
