You are bidding on a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS. Young marine being deployed out of Camp Pendleton sold it to me because he did not want to worry about his car while he was gone. Original motor replaced with a GM 350 Ci V8 in 2010. Complete restoration approximately 75% done. Not a trailer queen. This can be a daily driver! LOT of attention wherever this car is parked!.
Clean Washington title. **California buyer will receive current smog certificate. Car sold "AS IS".
Engine:
Motor starts up effortlessly every time. Once warm, settles into a smooth 750rpm idle. Immediate throttle response. No misfire. Pulls all the way to redline with no hesitation. Holly 650 dual pump carburator. Edelbrock heads. Complete recent tune-up. New plugs, cables, starter, aluminum dual fan radiator. Headers. New front disc brakes.
Transmission:
Transmission shifts surprisingly smooth for low tech 80's technology. Nice crisp shifts with no slipping or hesitation between gears. No "clunk" when shifting from "Park" to "Drive" to "Reverse".
Suspension:
Stock suspension. Newer control arm bushings. Shocks 5 yrs old. Handles like I remember a 1986 Monte Carlo handled.
Paint/Body:
5 yr old complete respray in excellent condition. 3 coats of base, 2 coats clear. No signs of major accident repair. Vinyl top needs to be replaced.
Interior:
Mostly stock interior. Aftermarket Tach, alt. and temp guages. All working condition. Headliner beginning to sag. Upholstery door panels, carpet all in good condition.
Brakes/Tires:
14" GM Rally wheels on BF Goodrich radial tires. 70% tread left on all 4 tires. Front brakes brand new. Rear are at 50% wear. Car stops in a straight line. No pulling, braking or premature lock up. No brake shake due to worn rotors.
