1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible 350 Automatic 78K Owned 34 Years!

This is a beautiful, original example of a 1971 Corvette Stingray before they took all the fun, style and performance out of them in the mid-70's. It has been owned and maintained for the past 34 years and currently only has 78,739 original, documented miles. $1,491 was just spent to get her ready for sale and included the following repairs:
-Evac and recharge the AC system
-Replace right rear brake caliper and bleed brake system
-Complete tune up
-Replace valve seals
-Install driver door lock assembly
She runs just like a 71 Stingray should with responsive acceleration, proper shift points, straight taking down the road and typical stopping power. As you can see, the body is in great shape and the paint is decent, but not show. The top looks like new, but is separating in spots. The interior is complete, but the tach is currently not working and the console is cracked up and needs to be replaced. Also, the radio has power and ground, but is also in need of repair.
Therefore, I would consider this Stingray the best of both worlds, investment grade prominence coupled with driver quality. It's also a great candidate for restoration if you wanted to fix some of the minor electrical issues and dress it up for show. Low balling will be tolerated like a fly on a ribeye and trades I shall forbade. SERIOUS buyers will be allowed to take it for a short test ride, but tire kickers will be kicked like a dead bird to the curb. Boy, this is one of the cheesiest couple of sentences I may have ever strung together... like a tether in bad weather! Okay, okay, I'll stop.
Feel free to call Peder (313-729-3671) or Tom at 313-805-4265 and feel free to talk about the car or set up a time for a closer inspection.
Please keep in mind that this is a no-reserve auction and your bid is a legally binding agreement to purchase the car. I've had a couple of curmudgeons in the past who either wanted to negotiate after the sale or expected a Barrett-Jackson trailer queen, so please ask any and all questions before considering a bid. Also, I encourage inspections of the car and feel free to look closely at the 24 pictures that I've posted to ensure that you're satisfied with your bid. It really is a nice 71 Stingray with low mileage at a great price, but it nearly half a century old and needs to be loved and cared for just like those who've owned it in the past.

Regarding payment... I expect a $1000 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of the sale and the balance paid in cash,CLEAREDcertified check or Paypal within 3 days with no exceptions. If you are flying into Detroit Metropolitan Airport to pick her up and drive her home, I'll be happy to meet you there and drive you to the Stingray (only a 20 minute ride). Also, I'll be happy to assist with the pickup and loading of the Vette if you're having it shipped, but the buyer is responsible for all expenses. Thank you and good luck during the auction.
