1976 Chevrolet Blazer Additional Info:

1976 Chevrolet Blazer Chalet. In 1976 Chevrolet introduced the Blazer Chalet. The showroom brochure reads, "Combines the toughness of a 4-wheel-driveChevy Blazer with the versatility of a complete camper unit. Blazer 4-wheel drive brings the backwoods to the back door." The brochure further states, "The Blazer Chalet has a reinforced plastic camper body over a steel frame permanently mounted to the Blazer. The Blazer Chalet is a spacious and comfortable place to stay. The camper top pops up easily to provide more than six feet of head room. The unit is fully integrated, too, so you can walk from the cab directly back to the living quarters." The Blazer Chalet has all a sink, refrigerator, stove, storage space, and sleeps four. The Blazer Chalet is extremely rare. Only 1500 were manufactured in 1976 and the Chalet was discontinued in 1977. The Blazer Chalet was designed to allow camping off of the well traveled campsites. Complete with 4X4, you can drive this rig almostanywhere you can take a jeep. It is ideal for hunting, fishing, or just avoiding the crowds. My Chalet has an added winch just in case you get stuck, and it is equipped to pull a trailer, as well as the towing ball in the front to assist in launching fishing boats. You can fly into Salt Lake City and drive this Blazer Chalet anywhere. It runs good, starts easily, and shifts properly. There are a few minor mechanicalissues. The brakes work, but a mushy with a soft pedal. Some of the electrical connections are bad. The horn and winch need attention. The front and passenger's seat are in excellent condition. They were protected by aftermarket covers when the truck was new and those covers have just been removed. I want the new owner to know exactly what they are buying. I know it is difficult to buy a truck that you don't have an opportunity to drive and check out. With this in mind, I will list in detail the problem areas of my Blazer Chalet. 1. It has been sitting for quite awhile and needs a thorough cleaning. 2. The body is straight and the floors and frame are dry and in good shape, but the the rocker panels, wheel wells, and hood have oldbondo and need repair. The Chalet looks better in the photos than in person. 3. The table top is missing as well as the original spare tire bracket. The spare tire is now mounted on the rear by where the propane tank door is located. 4. The engine runs well and can be driven anywhere, but it has an aftermarket Edelbrock carburetor installed. It has a full tank of gas and is ready to go. Fortunately, 1976 Chevrolet truck parts easily found and most parts are available at NAPA orAutoZone. The pop up top sags and the surrounding canvas is torn. It is braced, but needs attention. If you have any questions about my Chalet, please give me a call. My phone number is (801) 745-5835. I'm not a car dealer. I love old cars, but my camping days in the Chalet are over. If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks in your Ebay feedback score, please message or call me before bidding. This is a no reserve auction with a starting bid of $3,000. If no one else bids more than $3,000.00, you will own the 1976 Blazer Chalet. I will assist the shipper you select in shipping the Chalet.
