1946 Chevrolet Other Pickups Pickup Additional Info:

1946 Chevrolet DS 3800 Express 1 T Pickup. Production of this model was interrupted in 1946 by a 4 month United Auto Worker's strike which was was finally settled with government intervention. Due to this strike production numbers were low for this Express model with a total of 1972 manufactured. A few years back I purchased this truck from the original owner. The only thing I did was maintain it and add the wood side boards, late model rear truck bumper with a hitch which was used to pull a small trailer out in front of my business with a sign to advertise. I recently added the cow pusher grill guard. It sports a 6 cylinder....not sure if its the original factory 6. Looks like it could be a 1955 or '56 chevy motor..I'm not an expert. This truck still has the working floor starter kick button to start which works perfectly. A later model 3 speed transmission was added pryer to me owning it which makes it a breeze to drive..no double clutching! All the windows, including the windshield work with ease. It has been re wired for 12 volt pryer to my ownership. The lights and directionals work as they should. The heater was never hooked up but is installed where it should be. The truck has an after market horn and the doors lock with the original key. Starts and stops as it should. This is not a show Truck as it has a few scrapes and slight bruises, but it's a very solid, clean survivor. Obviously it had been re painted pryer to me owning it. If you're not familiar with this model it has a 9 ft bed. The original owner claimed it never had a tailgate when he purchased it new. It's a real eye Catcher wherever we go. It has been kept in a garage for all the years I owned it.
Feel free to ask any questions or make arrangements to come see it. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding.
