1971 Chevrolet Blazer CST Additional Info:

This Blazer was a barn find that I intended to make a modified off road vehicle. After buying it and driving it home I realized it would be a crime to cut this one up. It was so stock it had a points distributor in it. It ran rough and I verified the compression, after finding that good I put a Hei ignition and new spark plugs and wires. As I hoped the engine ran great with no noise or smoke and the auto trans shifted with no problem. I also did the engine oil and filter. This is a factory a/c cst trim blazer. The trim sticker is still in really good shape on the inside of the glove box. I powder coated the factory wheels and put new bfg's on it. The inside is all there and the floor has been epoxied. The top is in good shape for its age. Now I want to disclose the parts of this truck that are not so good. If you look at the pics under the truck you can see some oil leaking from the rear main and possibly trans pan. I don't clean things to hide issues. You will also notice the body to frame mounts have new bushings but there is some rust on the brackets themselves. The body is in good shape with a older cheap paint job, but looks good from 10 feet. No real rust issues on the fenders, body,or the windows but there is some evidence on a repair that was done on both door jambs. I took close photos of those. ( I can only hope that who did that has found another career). The top of the windshield on the passenger side is also a little rough. As I mentioned the floor has been epoxied there looks to be a repair on the driver floor but it's solid and the rear floor is in great stock shape. This truck remembers the gas crunch of the 70's and a second gas tank was added then removed. The evidence is you can still see where the gas door was ( in the pics ) but that should be a easy fix. The a/c is all there but does not work and it looks like the wiring to the a/c relay has melted. The blower motor works but the radio does not. The lights work. I drove it around town but I would replace all the belts and hoses before a long trip and give the truck a once over. I also would replace the u-joints as they are dry and who knows how old. I spent more time on the bad than the good as this truck will probably go somewhere far away ( where this truck would be called almost rust free) and I don't want any surprises to the new owner. I have a clean Utah title. I will answer any questions as fast as possible and send pics to serious bidders only. If you don't have feed back please contacting me first. I have seen these K 5's bring 15k plus. My reserve is the starting bid of 10k the last to bid owns it. Thanks and happy bidding!!
