1947 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:

1947 Chevrolet Firetruck. Very hard to find small firetruck, t is EXCELLENT for parades or business marketing. It turns heads EVERYWHERE you go. Kids LOVE IT.
Originally a Georgia truck. Straight body, o salt rust.
I used it in the 2015 Nashville Christmas Parade for my business. I painted it with Tractor Supply tractor paint (enamel) in November 2015. It has been garaged ever since. It is street driveable. I drive it around on nice days. We drove it in the parade for 2 hours and it did not overheat. Daytime temp was about 55 that day. I haven't driven it much since, ut it cranks every time. Has new 6 tires with less than 100 miles on them. They were put on in 2014. They had flat spots, ut the more I drive it, he better they get.Recent repairs or updates include:Carburetor rebuildWheels cylinders and master cylinder replaced, rakes done (stops good)New 6 volt batteryNew fuel pumpNew Window regulator on driver's sideNew seat cover (its comfortable)New molded black plastic door panelsNew paintRepaired exhaust leakChecked rear end fluidsChanged oil and antifreeze
There is no key, ut rather a factory original on off switch on the dash. Choke works. Starter is in the floor. Cranks right up and purrs so silently you can't tell she's running. I will try to post a video link this week. 4 speed in the floor, lutch is good, ears are non synchronized. Due to flat spots on the tires, never had her up past 50 mph. At that point, he vibration began to intensify. Although I drove it again yesterday (80 degree weather) and the vibration was much less intense. It's an around town kind of truck. Not so much interstate. You need to trailer it home. It fits on a 16' dual axle trailer just fine. It's about the size of a 1995 F250 dually (not as big as the F250s today).
What works:Headlights, ail lights, ed roof dome light, IREN WORKS WHICH IS AWESOME!Heater core has a small drip so I bypassed it, ther than that, he heat works. It had a small drip.
Windshield wipers are vacuum, on't work (use Rainex)
Blinkers and interior dome light dont' workOriginal paper headliner is showing age.
It needs:
A new home! It's driveable now, ut you can always tinker with it. There is no water pump for the hoses. I put a little generator in there for the parade. $88 at Harbor Freight (not included) Hoses are for display only. Comes with period correct wooden ladder (that alone was $100) and original axe with new handle. It needs new door and window handles, asy to get. The originals are stripped out. I have a nice piece of green carpet in the hose bed. It is not painted beneath the carpet.
You could also use this truck as a platform for an incredible street rod. I have a very modest reserve. Properly restored, his truck would fetch $20,000+. You can own it for well under half that amount. I am happy to talk about the truck on the phone. Email me for my number. Located downtown Nashville Tennessee.
