1951 Chevrolet Other coe Additional Info:
This truck came from a local apple orchard. I built it from top to bottom. The chassis is a 1967 C10. With full air ride. The air managementsystem is manual air ride component made by Little Larry foreplay. The air tank and compressor are in the bed of the truck. The air tank is hidden in the tool box. The frame was a long bed, I shortened it. Everyone uses and S10 frame, but they are too narrow and do not handle as good as a full size truck frame. The bed is from a 51 GMC. I lowered the side fenders instead of body dropping the bed over the frame rails, so I would still have a full depth bed. That way I could still use it as a truck. The back of the bed floor, wood is rotted (see photos). I just threw a large Road Sign in the bed to cover up the holes. The bed is still strong enough (I had a 500 Cadillacengine sitting in the back of that bed, and it didn'tfall through). I built this to use as a truck. The rear bumper is from a 55 Cadillac, that has been flipped upside down and narrowed. All brake components are new. Manual brakes and 4 wheel drums. Drive trainis from a 1970 Chevy C30 that had 21k original miles on it. The engine is completely stock besides headers and upgraded to an HEI ignition. It runs excellent. Does not smoke, tap or knock. Reliableengine. It has a 350 4 bolt main. Transmission is a 200 R4 that had 30K original miles on it. I did not take the dog box off to take pics of engine because it is just a bone stock engine. If you want pics let me know. New wiring throughoutthe whole vehicle. It has 2 1/2 inch exhaust with cherrybombs and electric cutouts. As you can see in the photos, I have the cutouts running out the steps. When you close them, the exhaust runs out the back fenders. New tires, I never cleaned the white walls because I like the way they look on the truck now.
The truck is rusty....Rust IS a color! HAHA! The cab has all new floors. New cab corners, outer rockers and the steps have new metal in them too. It is rusty, but made sure it is solid. I added an air vent on the drivers side lower cowl. This was a factory option on a 47. I took it off the 47 COE and added it to this truck (see photos). Both door glass is cracked, but do go up and down just fine. Passengerside windshieldwas shot by a pellet gun years ago and cracked. Original seat, I just covered it with Mexicanblankets. There is a liquor bottle for the fuel gauge. The headliner is made of pennies. The gauges for the air ride are in the glove box. The main air pressure gauge is right in front of the steering column. Angry orchard beer tap for the shifter (because it was and apple orchard truck, I thought it would cool). The pin striping was done by a local artist (hot rod Jen). The factory gauges (speedometer, etc) are not hooked up rightnow. The speedometer will function, it has been tested. I bought a cable that was too short, and never fixed. They are wired and do light up. NO Heat or AC. Does have power steering. Has small siren as a horn.
This is registered as an antique. I use as a truck and for car shows. Very reliable.
