This classic Chevy has been modified to provide modern performance, comfort, and safety features. The suspension, steering, braking, drive-train and electrical systems have all been upgraded. This car performs and rides as comfortably as a new luxury sport sedan, while still retaining the beauty and appearance of the iconic 1957 Chevy we have loved for six decades.

Drive-Train

The engine is a 350 cu. in. GM Performance Parts limited editionZZ430 crate engine producing 430 HP and 430 lb. ft. of torque. This engine is comprised of GM's HOT Cam, which was developed by GM Motorsports for LT1 and LT4 engines used in showroom stock road racing, and GM Performance Fast Burn cylinder heads with all the components matched for use with the HOT Cam. These CNC-machined aluminum cylinder heads are designed for 1958-2000 Chevy V8-engines with 283-400 ci displacement. They're drilled and tapped for 8-bolt Vortec and raised-port manifolds, they accept flange-mount or center bolt valve covers, and will support in excess of 500 HP. Topping off this power plant is a Holly Street Avenger 770 cfm carburetor and an MSD E-Curve distributor.

Other engine features include:

· MSD Blaster 2 chrome coil.

· Moroso 8mm Blue Max spiral-wound ignition wires.

· Borgeson chrome power steering pump.

· PowerMaster 100 amp chrome alternator

· Bill's Hot Rod chrome power steering and alternator brackets

· Bill's Hot Rod polished aluminum pulleys.

· Proform Slant-Top chrome Chevrolet valve covers and ARP stud kit.

· Polished the AFC aluminum radiator.

· Chrome 15-degree swivel water neck and O-ring.

· New hoses and belts.

E The transmission is a 6-speed Richmond Over Drive 6-speed with a Long Shifters model HR-6000 shifter. Long Shifters use 7/16" diameter heavy duty rods and aircraft type hymen rod ends.

The rear-end assembly is comprised of a Greg Moser Engineering heavy duty rear-end housing and 31-spline axles, a professionally built Ford SVO Motorsports 9" Nodular Case stuffed with chrome moly caps, aluminum Daytona pinion support, 1350 universal series long-billet pinion yoke, a new billet-hat 31-spline 4-pin Yukon Trac-Loc clutch posi unit and a Visteon (Ford) 4.11:1 ring and pinion gear set.

Chassis

The front-half of the frame was treated to a Jim Meyer's IFS Front-End Suspension, Steering, and Brakes Kit. This well-engineered setup features '70-81 GM Camaro spindles, 11-inch drilled and slotted rotors and calipers, GM ball-joints, a Buick Electra power rack, tubular A-arms, double-adjustable ViKing aluminum coil-over shocks and a 1-inch diameter anti-sway bar. An ididit tilt steering column and floor mount connect to the steering rack using a Flaming River polished stainless steering rod and nickel-plated U-joints. A CPP chrome master cylinder with integrated residual and proportioning valves, and Pure Choice Motorsports braided stainless steel brake lines complete the braking system.

A pair of 5-leaf springs and 2" lowering blocks are used in the rear with new Grade 8 hardware and supported by new lower spring/shock mounting plates and U-bolts. Rear braking is provided by '79-85 Eldo disc brake calipers and '79-80 Pontiac TransAm drilled and slotted rotors with an integrated emergency brake. All new brake lines and Lokar stainless e-brake cables are used. A pair of KYB Premium shocks and Earl Williams chrome-plated, 4130 chromemoly, adjustable traction bars complete the rear suspension/braking setup.

The car rides on 17x8" Hopster wheels from American Racing. The front tires are 225/50R17 Continental Extreme Contact D&Ws and the rear tires are 215/60R17 General Altimax HPs.

· Tanks fuel tank with Danchuk sender and 3/8" fuel line.

· Danchuk Smoothie front bumper and grille.

· Bumpers painted inside with Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black Primer and Spray Gray to prevent rust.

As you can see from the description, this car was built using all high-end components to achieve the performance goals set for this project. Since completion, the vehicle has been driven sufficiently to sort out and tune all components for performance and dependability. When you are behind the wheel you are constantly aware that the car "wants to run"--as if it was a thoroughbred race horse. There are no leaks, noises, pulls, drifts or problems. Giddyup!
