Priced Right Keels and Wheels mostly sell quality watercraft but every once in while we get a quality vehicle in on trade .... and this solid " Like a Rock" truck is no exception. Take a look at this well maintained 1986 Chevrolet C10 pickup that is fueled by a 305 V8 powerplant and Automatic Transmission. These trucks are becoming highly desirable and the rust free trucks from the South like this truck is even more desirable.
Mechanical:When it comes to owning a truck that rarely lets you down Chevrolet has proven that with their quality line of Pickup trucks though the years. This fine truck has come to us on trade so we have just the info the previous owner provided to us along with the info we found during a brief inspection. During our inspection test drive we found the engine to crank easily upon key turn and no unusual smoke from the dual exhaust. The 3 speed automatic transmission shifted perfectly and had no hesitations during our 10 mile drive. The oil will be changed before auction end, he transmission fluid looks newer, nd the coolant also looks to be fresh. As you can see from the pics everything appears to be stock under the hood with the exception of the Edelbrock Carb. The light, urn signals, rake lights, nd hazard lights all were found to be functioning. After removing the tires we found the braking systems in good working order and the aftermarket rims are wrapped in pretty decent tires that should suffice for a good bit of miles to come. This truck is equipped A/C and the previous owner stated it worked up until about 6 months ago. He stated that he took it a repair facility where they recharged it and it was working but since then has stopped again which indicates there is probably a leak somewhere. The power windows do work but the motors are either weak or the tracks need greased as they do not function very quickly. Most of the gauges were found to be working and as you can see by the photos this truck has the upgraded Deluxe gauge package. The original radio was replaced with a newer head unit which functions well and has a input for hooking up a ipod/phone for digital music. Overall, his is a great daily driver running truck and with a few tweaks it could be fully functional.
Cosmetic:As you can see from the photos provided this was a pretty well taken care of truck through the years and the previous owner did what he could to keep her looking good. The most important part of this truck is it's always been in the South and is nearly 100% rust free as you can see by the rocker panels, nder carriage, oor jams, nd cab corners. The previous owner had a friend do the body and paint work for him a few years back and it's not what I would call top quality but respectable for a daily driver. It certainly would not take a good body man/painter much effort to straighten out a few panels and shoot some quality color on her. She has good bones and for someone who wants some custom features to include shaved handles with electronic door poppers, ear roll bumper, ustom mirrors, nd spray in bedliner like this one a good bit of the work is done. You'll notice in the cab a on the gauge panel, ash, nd door panels a few missing trim pieces which all can be bought through LMC Truck for less than a few hundred dollars. Overall, omeone looking for a resto-mod or to return it to its previous OEM glory this one is well on it's way.
