I WANT TO POINT OUT THAT I AM PROVIDING THE BELOW INFORMATION TO SHOW WHAT I HAVE DONE TO ENHANCE THIS USED CORVETTE THAT I PURCHASED TWELVE YEARS AGO. A CORVETTE THAT BELONGED TO A YOUNG COUPLE THAT HAD INHERITED IT FROM PARENTS THAT VERY SELDOM DROVE THE CAR, KEPT IT UNDER A CARPORT, AND HELD ON TO IT BECAUSE "IT WAS GOING BE WORTH BIG BUCKS ONE DAY." OBVIOUSLY THEY WERE NOT AWARE THAT LETTING A CAR SIT IS JUST AS BAD AS DRIVING A CAR INTO THE GROUND.
Purchased in Boca Raton, Florida in 2005. After many arduous hours of study and going to web-sites, I was able to complete a frame on restoration in 2010 I have all receipts from the restoration process which began at Kelly Collision Center in Hallandale, FL (Custom Paint, replacement of all trim, emblems, and moldings, to include, all window insulation, etc. Installation of high capacity aluminum radiator and water pump, and all hoses). Next, it was off to King Restoration located in Deerfield Beach, FL where the interior was completely replaced with OEM, carpet, seat cushions, vent louvers, etc. all items were purchased from Eckler's Corvette Specialists in Titusville, FL. Since we can't forget the drive-line, the car was introduced to Gold Coast Transmissions in Hollywood, Fl for a transmission tune-up and drive line analysis, all went fine. I guess that would be enough, right? Nope. In the late months of 2010 the "79 Shark" (specialty license plate) was introduced to the owner of Gold Coast Corvettes (no affiliation with Gold Coast transmissions) in Oakland Park, FL. The owner of Gold Coast Corvettes was a German man who had been working on old Corvettes for over 30 years and was very impressed by mine and was able to verify that my Corvette is a "numbers matching 1979." He accomplished around $4,500.00 worth of "replacement" work, i.e. new gas tank (brought in from Michigan) trailing arms, rear stabilizer, etc. etc. Shortly after Gold Coast Corvettes work was done I had the front and rear shock absorbers replaced by having installed new Edelbrock shocks. In September of last year I had the power steering lines, the power steering control valve, slave cylinder, and all hardware removed and replaced with all new GM parts.
I have receipts and photos documenting the restoration process.
This Corvette would execute the race course at Sebring with ease. It is very tight and responsive.
I have maintained this Corvette as a show car and it is not been used as a "daily driver." I have all information pertaining to the monthly storage costs and collector's insurance requirements that have been validated yearly, etc.
Thank you for viewing my listing.
