1954 Chevrolet Other Pickups -- Additional Info:

STK 2154 1954 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Chevrolet got the jump on Ford after the war by starting production of its 'Advanced Design' series pickup trucks in 1947. These models were a radical styling change from the prewar trucks. They offered more cab room a streamlined body style and the capacity to carry much heavier loads. This 1954 Chevy 3100 Series pickup was the last of the Advanced Design trucks. Our classic received a partial restoration in 2016. The solid body received a new coat of 'patina finish' Red paint that gives the truck the perfect old-school look. The bed was refinished with a new deck and removable side bed stakes. Original factory wheels (including a spare) center caps and trim rings provide nice accents. The interior has been reupholstered in cloth and vinyl. Like all early postwar pickup trucks amenities were few. Standard equipment on all 1954 Chevy pickups was an ammeter fuel gauge oil pressure gauge speedometer cowl ventilator controls locking glove box and ashtray. The owner added an AM/FM/CD stereo for tunes and all electrics have been converted to 12 volt. In 1954 Chevy replaced their 216ci six-cylinder with the 235ci straight six. The engine featured 7.5:1 compression ratio received fuel through a single-barrel carburetor and developed 112hp and 200lb/ft of torque. The engine in this 3100 is said to be the original motor that has never been rebuilt. The current owner has done a great job as the curator of this truck.
