1992 Chevrolet Corvette LT1 5.7L MPFI 6speed

I have up for sale a 1992 Chevrolet Corvette LT1/ZF6speed. The car is a daily driver with no mechanical issues. I’ve owned the car for nearly 2 years and I am only selling to downsize the toy collection. This is the 5th Corvette I have owned, I know and love these cars. I’m an automotive engineer with experience in automotive restoration/repair and most of the work was completed by myself. The LT1 C4 Corvettes were ahead of their time. This car handles incredibly well and the engine upgrades make it really fun to drive. Just recently I have made 2 one thousand mile trips in the car with no issues. I would not hesitate to drive the car across the country. This car has all the LT1 bolt-ons and some internal engine work to complement. This is not your everyday stock C4. The car has plenty of power to roast the tires in 1st/2nd. Also I have most of the receipts to back up the work/parts. The car needs nothing to be a great daily driver.

The car came to me with many issues, but the largest concern was the tune. The previous owner bought a mail-ordered tune for the Hotcam kit, but the fuel tables were incredibly rich. I purchased the necessary chip burner/chips/software to correct this. I also installed wideband O2 sensors in place of the narrowband sensors in order to aid in tuning. The widebands have a configurable output voltage that I use to emulate the narrowband sensors. This allows for proper closed loop fuel control. Now that the fuel tables (VE tables) are accurate, the car runs great. I will include all necessary files/software/hardware to enable the buyer to tune the car. The car was tuned using Tunerpro, which gives you control over nearly everything in the ECU (Fuel, Spark, Fans, EGR, Idle, etc). The hotcam kit has very similar power/torque to a stock LT1 until the engine speed reaches about 3000rpm. Then the power kicks in and the car really wakes up. This package should make about 425 crankshaft horsepower. Gas mileage around town is about 15 mpg, but on the highway I have reached as high as 25 mpg. With 20 gal fuel tank the car can reach 500 miles between fill ups on highway. The engine runs 195-200°F at all times. All necessary components to tune/data acquisition the car are included. This means Moates Flash N Burn chip burner, spare chips, OBDI cable, calibration and definition files (I will include stock cal, mail-order cal, my cals). I recently fabricated muffler deletes and center exit tips. The flowmaster mufflers/tips will come with the car.

Transmission

Oil changed with BMW engine oil

Spec Stage 2 clutch

Flywheel resurfaced

The transmission shifts flawlessly. The clutch has no issues transmitting the power and I have never experienced any slip. The fluid was just changed less than 2 months ago.

Suspension/Brakes/Steering Upgrades/work

Drilled/slotted rotors FR/RR

Performance brake pads

New Master cylinder/booster

New Monroe shocks

New front lower ball joints

New half-shaft U-Joints

New rear wheel hubs

New leaf spring bushings

New alignment (8/2016)

New emergency brake line (rear)

C5 Corvette thin spoke wheels with BFG G-Force tires

This was another area of concern when I bought the car as much of the suspension was worn and out of spec. With that being said, all suspension components are now properly working. The car tracks straight down the highway at 90 mph with no vibration or wander. Tires have lots of life left in them. Brakes stop on a dime. No play in steering. E-brake holds strong.

Interior

New Kenwood Bluetooth head unit

New speakers

Wideband O2 and Vacuum gage

Carbon fiber roof hoop cover

Newly reupholstered seats (embroidered with Corvette/C4 Logo)

Racing shift knob

Viper alarm system, passive keyless entry (partially installed)

The interior of this car is very nice. The seats were recently upholstered. The rear carpet has some stains.

Exterior/Cosmetic

Blacked out fog lights, taillights, side markers

Headlights work as they should

Oooga horn installed

There are 2-3 small scratches that are in the paint and a couple that can be buffed out. The car is factory Polo Green and shines up really nice.

Included

All tuning software/hardware

Any spare engine parts

Chilton service manual

CD ROM Factory Service Manual

C5 magnesium wheels/tires (If they are not sold separately)

Flowmaster mufflers/tips

Spare keys

Known Issues

Window weather stripping leaks

Headlight Hi/Lo beam switch is stuck in Hi

Rear carpet dirty/stained

2 small paint scratches

Steering wheel tilt has some play

Reverse lockout doesn’t work

AC needs to be recharged

Some interior hardware missing (door handle covers, trim screws)

SYS light Blinking– This is due to the aftermarket radio. Needs resistor installed
