The car has original Sheet Metal and associated corrosion. The under body pictures were taken before the muffler and tail pipe were replaced. The generator has been rebuilt, windshield wipers arms and blades replaced and connected to the wiper motor (vacuum). The car drives and starts well but does have engine and transmission leaks. Before I purchased the car the carburetor and gas tank were replaced. Floor pan and trunk tire corrosion were repaired by new metal but was not installed correctly. The battery is new, brakes have been adjusted with some new metal lines, andsome fuel line and fittings have been installed. I replaced two of the three chrome rear bumper pieces. The car will include new chrome door latches, and driver’s side window chrome track and rubber but ran out of time to install them. Also included is the 1958 Chevrolet Passenger Car shop manual, and 1958 Assembly Manual.
All sheet metal including quarter panels, floor pans, eyebrows over the headlights, etc are available from the National Impala Association and others. Door and Window Seals need to be replaced and the drivers Glass Panel has a crack on the bottom. The Seat Upholstery, Door Panels, Headliner, Carpet, Rear Package Tray and glove compartment are in good condition.
'58 Bel Airs Coupes are rare and hard to find, so count on investment quality here. This is a car that needs nothing to be able to drive and enjoy right now.
