1972 Chevrolet C-10 Shortbed Additional Info:

This is my fathers 1972 Chevy pickup. He bought this truck in Arizona approximately 20 years ago and spent the better part of his retirement years restoring it for his own enjoyment. Sadly, age and health issues have caused him to offer it for sale. He has driven the truck fewer than 1000 miles since completing it.
This truck was a very straight and solid Arizona truck. It only required rocker panels and cab corners before being body-worked and painted with black basecoat/clearcoat. While not originally a deluxe trim truck, it now has all new deluxe trim, a new grill, lenses and new chrome bumpers. The bed floor is original and solid and has been coated in epoxy primer. As you can see in the photos the truck is straight and very clean and looks terrific. The windshield and black glass are new including new stainless trim. Wheels are factory GM Truck Rally wheels with original stainless rings. Tires are BF Goodrich T/A radials (235/70 front and 255/70 rear) with less than 1000 miles on them.
The interior is very nice. It has an original deluxe bench seat with the original cover. The seat cover does show a little wear with a couple minor cracks. The carpet and sound deadening is new and the dash has been recovered. A deluxe headliner was installed as were new seat belts. In the dash is a modern CD player (speakers behind the seat and in kick panels) along with the controls for a new Old Air Products AC system (which blows COLD) and an original factory TACH dash. The best thing is what is NOT found in the interior - the gas tank! The original tank was removed from behind the seat and a new custom tank was made to fit between the frame rails. A custom filler tank was made, accessed through a custom fuel filler door located on the drivers-side wheel tub. Very clean and neat.
The engine had just been rebuilt when he purchased the truck and runs strong and sounds great. It is a period early-70s 350 small block with rams-head exhaust manifolds. It now has an Edelbrock carb, intake and valve covers as well as a nice serpentine drive belt system. While not show-car detailed, the engine compartment is clean and tidy. Behind the engine is a 5-speed standard shift transmission. The exhaust is all new and utilizes Flowmaster mufflers and stainless tailpipes and tips. Brakes (disc in front) are all new including the master cylinder. The truck has all new shocks, cab and core support bushings a heavy duty front sway bar and a fresh alignment.
This is a really nice old truck that runs and drives excellent and is ready to be enjoyed. While not show-car detailed, the underside and frame is clean and painted. Its the kind of truck that you can get in and drive without any reliability concerns and in complete air-conditioned comfort. Drive it to the store or impress at local car shows and cruise nights...its a great truck. What it really needs is someone willing to use some elbow grease to get it to the next level. The paint is very good - door gaps are excellent and the panels are straight, but it was never color sanded and buffed, so it can look even better. The door jambs are nice, but should be buffed out. There are also a couple minor chips, but nothing terrible. He never finished out the bed floor, but aside from paint it is solid and in good shape. Paint the bed black or maybe splurge on a wood kit - either would look great. None of these items are major, but he has simply lost the energy to complete them.
