1955 Chevy / GMC COE

Cabover Truck, Daily Driver.

These Cabover COE’s are getting harder and harder to find…. Especially one that is custom built and a daily driver!!!

I drive this truck to work every day, located in Phoenix Arizona.

This is a very nice custom built COE truck from the ground up. Truck was built to last and to stand the test of time as daily driver. I have a few of these custom trucks, more then I can drive and its time to let this one go from my personal collection.

This Tuck is a GMC COE with a Chevy Grill front end as seen in photos. Original two tone green paint from 1955, I did not paint it as the patina is “Rusty Gold” and took 61 years to get this look. There is a dent in the left fender that could be easily knocked out by a body shop.

Please see the attached photos below. A lot of time and money has been put into this truck. Excluding labor there is over 16K in materials invested in this tuck. Building a Hotrod/ Ratrod is NOT cheap…

Truck is mounted on a 2005 Chevy Colorado chassis with a 4 cylinder 2.9L motor and automatic transmission. Engine has 262970 miles but I pulled the tans out in the beginning of the build and had it overhauled. There is less then 4K miles on the trans. I also had the engine gone through to have the front and rear oil seals replaced, power steering pump and rack and pinion replaced new. New power packs and spark plugs. Did not want to have to open the truck up for repairs after the build. Tuck runs great, as to be expected it gets great gas mileage (25mpg) BUT is not racing motor. Tuck will get up and go but will not be winning any races…

What is nice about the 2005 Chevy chassis is that it has a front rack and pinion and rides glass smooth with great handling. The steering has a custom built gear box to connect to the rack and Pinion. Truck drives and stops great! All parts under the hood and on the chassis are OEM replaceable, making any maintenance easy and cheap.

Best part is…Factory A/C is install and is ICE COLD!!!

I did not have the heater core installed but do have an after market one that will sit under the passenger seat and easily plug into the engine heat exchange lines.

Rims and Wheel are aftermarket Chevy 6 lug 24 inch rims with low profile tires. These are perfect for the truck and took a long time to find and are $$$. Makes this truck turn heads!!!

I love to drive this truck, it is so original and different, every were I go it gets looks and so few people actually even know what it is. Tuck even has a ton of utility as it has a flat bed that can haul anything…

I am involved in local parades every year and it draws a lot of attention…. YouTube the tuck logo and you’ll see it.

Please note that the logo on the door panels is painted on and can bee sanded off by buyer to put your only custom logo.

Seat is out of a 2015 Tahoe and has incorporated shoulder harness, OEM seatbelts. Pasenger seat folds forward for storage behind the seat. The floor has been insulated to block any noise and heat.

And yesit does have a clean AZ title 1955 GMC COE Truck.

I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking.
