1964 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:

Presenting a beautiful 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, NCRS, Top Flight, Bloomington Gold, Triple Diamond Winner. Delivering dealer was Harry Mann Chevrolet, Los Angeles, California and still has the original California Black Plates.Yes, the important thing with Corvettes is that they are correct and properly restored, so this one definitely qualifies. The code 940 Satin Silver paint, a new color for 1964, matches what it wore originally, although there was nothing in 1964 that could match the shine it carries today. Fit and finish are great and the silver paint accentuates the sleek Stingray shape which is still arguably the best-looking 'Vette ever. They weren't doing stripes or stingers in 1964, so the monochromatic look is still contemporary and when it's finished to this level, there's nobody who will be able to resist throwing it an admiring glance as you drive by. The chrome is in very good condition, there are proper emblems, and the glass is the correct (A01) soft ray tinted glass, all making this very authentic. This car just looks right. The interior is the matching (898) satin silver leather, which only .1% of Corvettes carried this color combination. It works really well with the black dash and silver bodywork. The seat covers, door panels, and carpets all look virtually new and provide a great place to spend some serious time on the road. A woodgrained steering wheel warms up the otherwise monochromatic look inside and the gauges are all beautifully restored, including the 5500 RPM tachometer, which is correct for cars with the 250 horsepower 327 such as this. The list of factory-installed options is rather lengthy for a Corvette of this era, including (N40) power steering, (J50) vacuum power brakes, (A31) power windows, (U69) AM/FM radio, (C60) 4 season air conditioning and (T86) backup lamps. Add to that the (M35) 2-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission and (G91) 3.08 special highway axle ratio rear end, and there can be only a handful of cars equipped such as this. Matching embroidered floor mats help keep things looking fresh and seat belts were added for safety, so it's ready to enjoy. That's also the original, numbers-matching 327cubic inch V8 under the hood. And with 250 horsepower and 300 pounds of torque it is very entertaining to drive. The engine bay is correctly detailed with a chrome air cleaner lid and matching ignition shield, Chevy Orange engine enamel, and reproduction radiator hoses with the correct markings. The A/C system still uses its original Frigidaire A6 compressor and R12 inside, and there are correct ram's horn exhaust manifolds that complete the look. It starts easily and runs superbly with a great small block cackle from the reproduction dual exhaust system. And with all the reproduction knock-off wheels out there, it's great to see this one wearing steel wheels and hubcaps inside proper (P92) whitewall tires.Frame off restored, very rare color combination and documented NCRS, Top Flight Award, Bloomington Gold and Triple Diamond Winner, this is a fantastic mid-year 'Vette that can truly do it all.
