1966 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 2 Door Additional Info:

This is my 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air Coupe(which was actually described back in the day as a "2 Post Sedan"),427 "Sleeper" built with Top Shelf Components. The Bel Air was positioned by Chevy just above the Biscayne, and just below the Impala. This car has a Freshly built 454, Chevrolet Power Brakes and Power Steering. The 4 Speed Transmission is equipped with a Factory Style Shifter Handle on a Hurst Competition Plus Control Box. This give you the Factory look, with a superior Hurst Shifter. 12 Bolt Chevrolet Posi-traction Rear End. F41 Chevrolet Heavy Duty Suspension with Front and rear sway bars, and Pan Hard Rod in Back. I installed Koni Shocks (the very best!) and it tamed the handling of this large, but surprisingly LIGHT car! This sleeper 427 Tribute was built on what was an original 6 cylinder car, so no great car was altered, but a very good one was created! Factory Chevrolet 1967+ Power Steering, and Power Brakes that work perfectly. Brake lines are new. Any auto parts store has Brake shoes, etc. when they are needed. Fresh Exhaust system features Headers, BORLA mufflers, and new pipes. Sounds great! This car GOES :) and STOPS very well for a car this size. It is a blast to drive. It rides on 15x7 GM Rally style wheels in front, and 15x8 Rally wheels in back. Tire size is staggered, with 275mm Tires in back and I believe 225mm tires in front. Correct, original 1966 Hub Caps. There is a Water Temp, Oil Pressure, and Volt Meter Gauges are mounted below the dash. A factory style in Dash-Tachometer is in place exactly as Chevrolet offered as an option. I have the original build sheet, and Warranty Card, and this is the correct factory Cameo Beige Color. Paint job is an inexpensive paint job to my eye, but the color is a good one for this car, at least in my opinion. The heart of this car is a 454 built by Barnette's Engines in Chesapeake VA....They are a very reputable shop. The block was bored, decked, reciprocating assembly balanced, and a mild hydraulic cam was installed. It has an aluminum intake manifold, Holley Double Pumper Carburetor, headers, and runs great on pump gas! Has factory GM distributor. Correct 427 style dual snorkel air cleaner. It will get out of people's way....on that I promise. :) Engine is fresh. I called Barnette's and they remembered the build. It has very few miles, I will check, but less that 10k. No smoke, starts instantly. The Transmission shifts perfectly, as good as ANY 4-speed I have ever owned. The undercarriage is SPOTLESS. Trunk is nicely detailed with spare. Factory style radiator. I added a radiator shroud. Runs right at 195-200 degrees here in Dallas, where it is HOT. The interior is older, but presentable. Factory steering wheel with a horn that works. This car is read to cruise. It would be hard to replicate at this price, at this level of quality. Koni? Borla? you don't often see those touches. Most glass appears original. When I first started looking at these, documented 427 cars were $65k or so, and I could also find cars people THOUGHT were original, that wouldn't bring $45k because you simply could not verify that they were original. This car, while not original, is very nicely equipped, just as much fun, and a LOT less money. Many more photos can be seen here on Photobucket http://s915.photobucket.com/user/txccod/media/02SUBALBUM/66belair427beige/DSC00171_zpswwwdb35l.jpg.html Video link is here:
