1968 Yenko Super Camaro

I am offering for sale my fully restored Yenko Super Camaro. I purchased this car in 2006. It was still wearing it's original special order paint (Fathom Blue), ad most of it's original Yenko emblems, W gauges, riginal Magic Mirror trim tag, enko serial number door jam tag, arge front copo swaybar, opo 140 Delco Speedo and the orig vin tag and hidden vins were unmolested. It is on the Yenko vin list and in the registry. It also has the NCRS GM shipping letter certifying that it was delivered to Yenko Chevrolet.

In 2009 I shipped the car to Rick Nelson at MCRD in Illinois for a full no expense spared restoration to national judging and concours standards. The result is stunning. The incredible paint job was applied by Tom Scholtz. It was invited as 1 of 5 cars to be unveiled at the 2011 MCACN show in Rosemont Illinois, nd Dr. Lynn Yenko was there to help show the finished car. Pictured with the car is Lynn with Rick Nelson on the left and Tom Scholtz the painter on the right. The car was entered for judging in both 2011 and 2012 and scored a high of 992 out a possible thousand for the Gold Award each of the 2 years. In the 2012 MCACN show it was invited to be in the tribute to Don Yenko by being the only 68 427 Yenko Camaro displayed in the "Meet the Mean Ones" Yenko area. Also in 2012 it was a sponsors pick. Entire drive-train is correct for car including all of the parts that make it up. Pages of NOS parts were sourced for this car at a huge cost but I did not want it built using chinese catalog parts. There is over $10,000 alone just in the GM weatherstripping for example.

Encouraged by the success of the 1967 model, enko continued to produce his Yenko Super Camaro's for 1968. All of the 1968 Yenko Super Camaro's started life with the L78 396 ci 375hp engine and close ratio 4 speed Muncie transmission. They were all built as Super Sport cars but only the Yenko ordered cars came with the 9737 COPO appointments which included; 140mph Delco speedometer, pecial Magic Mirror trim tag and large 1 1/8th inch front sway-bar. Yenko then swapped the factory 396 ci short-block for the L72 427 ci 450hp short-block reusing all of the rest of the 396 engines components including the heads, arburetor, ntake manifold etc...He then swapped out the stock hood for a twin snorkel fiberglass one he had made along with other features including Pontiac 14x6 steel wheels with special Yenko caps, enko emblems gracing the front grille, ront fenders and tail panel, 27 emblems were added to the tail panel and front fenders as well. Other additions were a Yenko Super Camaro serial numbered tag in the drivers side door jamb, tewart Warner pedestal mounted tachometer and gauges were installed in the interior, arly cars got a rear spoiler made for Yenko and later cars all got the factory spoilers front and rear. The recognized production number for these cars is aprox 64 cars converted, ith well less than half of that number known to exist today.
