WELL, SIT BACK AND ENJOY BECAUSE THIS RED BEAUTY MAY BE THE ONE YOU HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR!!!
This beautiful Bright Red 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Pick Up recently arrived from California where it is believed to have lived its whole life. These classic Chevy trucks have continued to grow in popularity and are among some of the highest demand classics in the collector market today. The gentleman I purchased this truck from owned it for a little over 3 years and he purchased it from the guy who had the professional restoration work done approximately 5 years ago. He had recently added another classic to his collection so he decided to let this beauty go to the next lucky owner to enjoy...maybe you!!? As you will see in the pictures that follow this '51 still looks fantastic and there have only been about 5700 miles put on the truck since the time of restoration. The truck was restored to maintain quite a bit of its original classic look with just a few modifications. Most importantly, it was built to be driven and a nice crate 350 V8 was installed and mated to a 700R4 Automatic transmission with overdrive. An updated front end was professionally installed offering power independent front suspension and power front disc brakes. An awesome custom bucket seat interior was installed for added comfort and this 3100 is truly a joy to drive! Of course it will be welcome at all of the local car shows and cruise-ins and should bring home its share of trophies if that is what you enjoy. I will do my best to provide you with enough large images, a video of this truck starting up and running, and an honest description to help you determine if this is the classic truck you have been searching for. As with all of my classics I do have this truck listed on several other sites in addition to my own. Therefore, if you want to scoop it up before the next car guy or gal does feel free to call me to discuss how we can make that happen. Sit back and enjoy!!
As you will see in the photo walk around tour of the body below this '51 Chevy 3100 is a gorgeous truck with a very nice quality bright red paint job on an all steel body that was done professionally approximately 5 years ago. It was hard to capture the true color of this truck in the pics outside because the sun wanted to reflect and glisten all over the curvy body of this classic. Any white spots you see are merely from the sun. Body panels are all very straight and alignment and fit is excellent. It is very possible that this truck is still wearing most if not all of its original steel however we do not have extensive details about the restoration. Doors line up great and open and shut very solid. All of the chrome including front bumper, front grille and trim all look fantastic and may have been replaced at the time of restoration. The bed area looks great with the nicely stained yellow pine wood accented in body colored stainless strips. To improve the durability of the bed area a bedliner material was sprayed on the inner walls. The original rear bumper was deleted and a nice rear roll pan was installed for an updated look. The fresh air vent in front of the windshield is fully functional and provides nice air flow on those long cruises. All of the glass looks excellent and windows roll up and down nicely. Weatherstripping all appears to have been replaced. The body is in close to flawless condition overall although I did notice a few small chips along the steel running boards that were touched up and a few other very small spots that were touched up as well. Overall the body and paint on this truck are very impressive...check it out:

You may have noticed some custom pin striping along the body of this bright red 3100. This was professionally done recently here in my showroom by Conways Customs who we bring in frequently to give these classic trucks a truly unique look. As you will see the tan and black pin striping accent this truck beautifully.
Complimenting the gorgeous bright red exterior of this truck is a beautiful custom bucket seat interior in a great caramel tan color. These bucket seats are extremely comfortable and supportive. A nice custom center console provides some storage and drink holders. Door panels and head liner were also custom done to match and look great. Matching carpeting looks great. A very functional GM tilt steering column was installed again providing more driver comfort and a nice 14" updated steering wheel was also added. Custom gauges from Dolphin were added to provide the driver with all of the needed readouts and an added small tach was also neatly mounted below the dash. All of thegauges and lights appear to be working correctly. Functioning emergency brake pedal and retractable seat belts for both driver and passenger were installed. A very nice updated digital stereo was mounted in the stock radio location with speakers mounted in the original chrome speaker grille area of the dash. Heater works nicely if needed as do the windshield wipers. About the only upgrade missing is aftermarket air conditioning which can be easily added using a kit from Vintage Air. Otherwise the interior looks fantastic and is ready for the shows! Take a look inside:

While there is no doubt that this is a gorgeous looking classic Chevrolet 3100 this truck is also a true pleasure to drive and handles the road beautifully. At the time of restoration a completely rebuilt 350 V8 was installed with an estimated 300 horsepower. Just under 5700 miles on this rebuilt motor since it was installed. She fires right up thanks to the electronic ignition fuel is supplied through the Edelbrock 4bbl carb and polished intake and has a nice tone thanks to the custom headers breathing out the dual exhaust. This motor is very strong and responsive and was built to handle highway cruising as well as some stop light to stop light fun if desired. Smooth shifting 400R automatic transmission was installed at the same time and a Ford 9" rear end puts the power to the ground. A Mustang II front end was added providing independent front suspension and power steering. Handling is a pleasure. Braking is great thanks to the power front disc brake set up. As you can see this truck has a great, slightly lowered stance thanks to front lowering springs and lowering blocks in the rear. Vintage looking set of Chrome Smoothie 15" wheels wrapped in close to new radial tires. This '51 runs nice and cool and a new radiator was installed with a custom fan shroud. I drove this truck quite a bit the day I photographed it in 90 degree heat and it ran nice and cool the whole time. This is definitely a truck that you can get in and drive and enjoy with a smile planted on your face the whole time as others honk and wave at you no matter where you go!! As you will see the engine bay is very clean and you will be proud to pop the hood at the shows and cruise-ins. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed and completely solid with no rust issues. Make sure you listen to the video that follows to hear this beauty start up and running.
