1949 Cadillac Series 61 Original Interior Additional Info:

Hello and thank you for viewing this extraordinarily well preserved 1949Cadillac Series 614 door touring sedan.
This is my Aunt and Uncle's beloved Cadillac that my Aunt purchased for her adoring husband as a Christmas gift in 1984. Since then they have always garaged this vehicle in their San Francisco home, where the car is located. My Aunt's recent description of the vehicle reads as the following.

"Infoabout our 1949 Cadillac:We are the second owners of the Cadillac. The original owner was an opera singer with the San Francisco Opera. He and his wife bought it new in 1949.He shipped it overseas whenever he was performing in Europe. He had a stroke and she didn't drive.Patrick had always wanted a 1949 Cadillac, so when I saw it advertised for sale in our neighborhood newspaper in 1984, I bought it for him for Christmas! It has always been garaged. We had a complete engine overhaul performed as well as other related things that needed to be done. The upholstery is original and in very good condition. The car is not a "show car".It has always been a car to be driven, not saved for vintage car shows. It’s a Series 61.We have all the maintenance/service records from the time we bought it.Mileage is 88,215.

Ro and Pat"

I had the pleasure of visiting them in 2016, when I went for a ride in this gorgeous classic with flowing lines and tail fins. This experience truly changed my perspective on classic vehicles, being a long time VW enthusiast. This is the smoothest, most quiet running classic vehicle I've had the pleasure to drive and it was a joy to hear some of the stories from my Uncle on the drive.

There are receipts and documentation since their purchase dating back 35 years to 1984 and more photos on the blog showing some receipts.

If you are seeking a beautiful luxurious Classic Cadillac in a gorgeous color combo, this is one that has nothing to hide, and so much to be proud about. It features the correct fully rebuilt engine weighing in at nearly $7000, with only 2669 miles since rebuild back in 1998 at Gasoline Alley, a well renowned Cadillac specific mechanic shop from that era. It appears to have never been in an accident from my inspection, drives straight, has sensitive, well equipped brakes, smooth steering, and good acceleration. My Uncle did state that over time there has been a small oil stain underneath, but nothing that you wouldn't expect from a car this old, and nothing that detracts from the enjoyment of driving this classic down the open road.

Noting that this is a vehicle that has not been restored, or cleaned up to sell, only driven to keep it running smooth for those crisp spring days through the windy California coastal drives, it can be enjoyed worry free. This isn't the car that you have to worry about every scratch and ding, but can enjoy knowing that the integrity is as apparent as it is shown in the photos and videos with decades old paint, original bright work and supple seals. Or, if you are a purest and desire the highest standards for your collector car, this is a solid foundation for a concours restoration.

It is always rare to find a car that is likely older than you, with only two owners, and a rich history, preserving such nostalgia in authentic form. This time capsule will lull you to a carefree place when times were slower paced than the fast paced days of genericism and efficiency measured from the bottom line. This is an extravagant classic that is proud of its design heritage and does show well. You might take on the presence of your favorite movie star or lounge act when you turn on the original vacuum tube radio, catch the wind in your hair and glide down coast highway with glimmering hints of sunlight reflecting off the wood grains and shiny chrome embellishments. This auction will allow you to win and enjoy this rare classic as your own that brings many smiles and thumbs up. If you think you can handle the attention, since you will get many looks driving a gorgeous example of one of Detroit's finest around town, you should place your highest bid, or use the buy it now.

If you really want this one, I would encourage you to use the Buy it Now, since it will disappear once the reserve is met and then it is anyone's bid in the last few seconds, that take this prize.

Again...If you really want this one, I would encourage you to use the Buy it Now, since it will disappear once the reserve is met. The reserve will not be disclosed, however it is less than the buy it now. As stated the car is in San Francisco where it can be picked up, or put on a truck for shipping to your home. Seeing that this is a used classic car, there is no warranty implied or expressed. If you win or purchase this vehicle, you agree to purchase it "As Is, Where Is." It has been described and documented as best representative of the current condition. Thank you.
