1969 Cadillac Fleetwood Additional Info:

1969 Cadillac Fleetwood series 75 limousine hard top.

Originally owned by Howard Hughes (Working on the title search to confirm) and painted Hughes tool corporation blue. It was regularly driven up until 2008, then placed on non-op with the intention to restore it. A recent auto accident has changed my ability to do any work on it. So this is your chance to own and restore a solid, rare piece of American history!

The 75 series Cadillac limousine was the mostluxurious, most powerful, and most comfortable car it's class! Cadillac was the only manufacturer that custom built their limousines on an assembly line. The other manufactures farmed theirs out to a body shop for a limousine conversation. Only 1,156 Fleetwood Limousines were produced in 1969.It is unknown how many still exist.

This is a formal limousine with a power glass divider between the chauffeur and passenger compartments. a 472cu engine and three speed automatic transmission. The chauffeur's compartment is upholstered in black with black leather seating. Has telescoping steering wheel, climate control, adjustable wiper speed, head rest, and dual window visors. Passenger compartment is upholstered in gray with grey leather seating and solid wood trim. It has almost every amenity one would expect from a 1969 Cadillac including independent air conditioning and heating, auxiliary jump seats, foot rests, radio controls, ceiling-mounted flood lights, and rear door lock and window controls.

This is a restoration project and sold as is. It has been in storage for ten years, I wiped away the cobwebs and detailed it. Engine is original, complete, and has original low miles. Installed new plugs and wires, rebuilt the carburetor, flushed the fuel tank and lines, and replaced the battery and cables. Engine runs but is not running. I tried to flush the radiator and tune up the engine, but there is no pressure in the cooling system. Either the water pump or the thermostat are seized up. So I could not make any adjustments without the engine getting to hot. The transmission is shot and will not go into gear. Body is mostly straight, a lot of rot in the lower corners where dirt and debris built up over the years. All doors, trunk lid, and hood open and close as they should. Hood hinges were bent and replaced with good used ones from a local salvage yard, hood still needs adjusting. Rear heater core in the trunk was leaking badly and disconnected in the engine compartment. All the chrome pieces are there, some are damaged, the loose ones were removed and placed in the trunk. All four original hubcaps are there. Leather interior is in surprising good condition. However, Seat foam on front and rear seats are worn and disintegrating. Center window divider does not work and taped in place, all other windows roll up and down although slowly, and all door locks work. Most of the interior light covers have long since crumbled apart. Passenger sun visor is in the trunk. Driver side lower kick panel is missing. Dash is badly cracked. Paint is shot, I tried to polish it with very little luck and gave up. All the glass is there and in good condition.

Overall, you are getting a complete and original restoration project that is a unique part of American history and engenuity. This car is a classic and I hate to let it go, but it's time to face reality.

Let me know if you have any questions, I have a lot of history on this car and would love to share it! Clear title is missing, but will make time to visit the DMV for a new title. Vehicle is located in Apple Valley, CA. Inspections are welcome by appointment only. I'm happy to arrange shipping, however, I would encourage you to drive out with your trailer, look at it in person, and tow it home. It will not disappoint you!
