1987 Cadillac Allante Additional Info:

I am listing this 1987 Cadillac Allante for auction. It is a well running and well maintained car, with approximately 76000 miles on the odometer. It has new rear brakes and a new fuel pump. It is a two-seat convertible with both a hard and soft top. The car is unaltered, with the exception of the Dayton Wire Wheels. I am including the original factory painted wheels, center caps, and second set of tires as well.
History
My father bought this car in 1992 (used) as a second vehicle. He drove it occasionally on day trips and around town. It has been garaged since he bought it. He stopped driving it around 2003. In late 2017, my father decided he wanted to make room in his garage and that he no longer wanted the car. He gave it to me to sell. When I pulled the car out of storage in the Fall of 2017, it did not start due to a bad fuel pump. I towed it to the Cadillac dealership, where they cleaned the fuel tank and replaced the fuel pump, strainer, filter, and sending unit. They also replaced the rear brake pads, rear calipers, and rear rotors while it was in for service.
Condition
The car is in good mechanical condition overall. I have driven it around town in order to prepare it for sale and to take pictures. I have the maintenance records back to 1992. Feel free to use the 'contact seller' link if you have any questions. The car has some defects, mostly cosmetic, which I list below.
  • Soft top (original black cloth) is worn/torn in the sail panel area (not pictured)
  • Air conditioning (original R12) is inoperative with message "Low Refrigerant" on Driver Information Center
  • Sun visors droop/don't stow, and are currently held up with a rope to aid driving the car
  • Dayton Wire Wheels have some surface rust among spokes (see pictures)
  • Factory painted wheels (pictured) and center caps (not pictured) have some marks/corrosion
  • Hood and rear compartment lift supports are weak
  • Driver seat belt retainer is broken (see picture)
  • Various paint bubbles/corrosion/chips/dings (see pictures)
