1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Additional Info:

Pretty cool 1959 Cadillac 2dr Coupe, Serie 62.

California/Arizona car with only very minor rust. Bottom of the front fenders, very little above the rear wheels and again very little by the base of the rear window on the left side. It should not take more that a day, 2 at most to make the car rust free.

As you can see the car was primered black probably 30+ years ago but originally it was blue with a blue interior.

The Cadillac had not been used in over 25 years before we bought it so we serviced the engine (pulled the lifters, cleaned and oiled them, lubed the cylinders etc before starting it), rebuilt the cars, brakes, installed new radial tires with white walls etc and it is a running and driving car as you see it. The exhaust should probably be replaced. (We can have that done).

The body is very good, not perfect but very good, the paint is bad, interior is somewhat dry and the dash pad is very dry.

As far as I can tell the car has not been messed with at all and the sidetrim for example that is so difficult to find is still in place and in good condition.

The Power Windows work, the Power Seat work, I have not tried the Power trunk but the car does have a factory power trunk.

The Cadillac is a good project or with only minor work it would make a cool driver, it is at least 98%-99% complete and it's an unmolested car. The horn ring is missing, the center is with the car but not the ring.

It's difficult anymore to find a very good project 1959 Cadillac Coupe andin my mind I'd rather take bad paint if the car is almost free from rust (surface rust don't count)!

Please note, since the Cadillac has been sitting for 25-30 years I would not recommend that you plan on flying in and driving the car home. It does start, run good and stop but still, it has been driven probably 1 mile in several decades so be realistic.

And please don't send emails asking about "the best price", I will listen to offers so give it a thought and throw me an offer if you'd like.

Wehave a huge restoration shop in down town Phoenix, Arizona, Copperstate Classic Cars and we can do work on the Cadillac if a buyer wants to have it done.

Wedon't have time for a huge restoration job, there's already 4 1959 Cadillac's in the shop plus over 40 other old cars but we can do rust repair, interior work and other misc work. Wehave worked exclusively on late 50's to late 60's cars for the last 31 years.

AND AS ALWAYS, WE SELL AND SHIP WORLDWIDE, SINCE 1986.

-We also have a loaded, rustfree 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille undergoing a frame off restoration. It's an California/Arizona car with Cruise control, P-vent windows, P-trunk etc. We have not decided on colors in and out yet so if you are interested in buying the caryou can pick your favorite color combination!

-And we also have a 1959 Fleetwood coming in, dark green metallic exterior. Needing cosmetic restoration.

PLEASE email with questions before bidding and,

PLEEEEEEESE do not bid unless you are willing and able to pay should you be the wining bidder!

Inspection of the Cadillac is encouraged and welcome, please have that done before bidding, not after you have won the auction.

We require a $2000 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction and the balance within 7 days.

We have exported lots of old cars from Arizona all over the world since 1986 and we really do sell worldwide (North Korea will probably not work though)!

AND ALSO PLEASE NOTE, EBAY IS CALLING IT A FLEETWOOD, I CAN'T CHANGE THAT, IT IS A SERIES 62 2DRHT, NOT A FLEETWOOD!

Ok, I had the Cadillac on a lift and took pictures from underneath.
I'll do the bad news first:one front floor pan has some rust, no big holes but the carpet has gotten wet and the floor there got rusted. Personally I'd replace one front floor pan.I also saw a few small spots of rust in the rocker panels on each side, concentrated and only in one small spot on each side, below the rear corner of the door. You should be able to see the very concentrated rust spot above the rear wheel, a little more on one side and less on the other side but not much either way. As on almost all GM cars of the era there's a spot of rust at the bottom of each front fender, as I wrote in the description.
Now for the good:The rear floor pans look great, inner rockers look great, most of the outer rockers are great, the area behind the rear wheel at the bottom of the quarter panel where almost all 1959-60 Cadillac get rusted is dry and nice on both sides.
I now see why the exhaust is a little loud (not bad at all but louder than on most 1959 Cadillac's). The exhaust system ends underneath the car, just behind the mufflers.
So, no big surprises, I had not spotted the one floor pan rust earlier but, they are very inexpensive and easy to replace and unless you are going to strip the car and repaint it right away there is no real hurry to fix it!
