My friend has owned this gorgeous Cadillac for approximately a year and a half. He purchased the car from the nephew of the original owner who inherited the car. This gentleman had kept this Cadillac as his prized possession, according to the nephews recollection. This car has been meticulously maintained and seldom driven. This car still wears its original Firethorn Red paint throughout, which is absolutely incredible in itself. I went over the car numerous times in sheer disbelief the first time I saw it, but it is TRUE.

This incredible survivor example of Cadillac's 1976 Eldorado showcases its born-with Firethorn red metallic paint job, having underwent a recent professional polish and seal. In addition to the beautiful paint,I want to note the spectacular condition of the chrome brightwork on this Cadillac. The bumpers and the side body molding/trim is as perfect as can be. This car was never subject to any kind of parking lot abuse and it shows.

Firethorn Redis a striking color both in the direct sunlight, seen above and in low light.

The only paintwork this car has ever received was commissioned by my friend earlier this year. He had the aged original bumper filler insert pieces replaced both front & rear. They were refinished special by Stuart's Paint & Body in Garland, Texas. They did an incredible job, perfectly matching the special Firethorn red metallic finish. These guys are known for high end paint work in the exotic car industry, but did these pieces as a favor. All of the original paint and hood pinstripe is intact.
On his acquisition of this Cadillac, my friend went to work in making it reliable for daily use. He had the original tires replaced with American Classic 235/75R15s all around. The brake system was gone through, the fuel system attended to, and the engine tuned. This car drives magnificently, straight and true. This is a car that is at home on the highway at 80mph or around city streets at 30mph, just add gasoline. Be sure to play our fun video of this Cadillac if you didn't, right here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N__OdGiL3z0&t=6s
Open the doors to 1976. The interior is original and in beautiful condition. The steering wheel is just stunning as are the gauges & dash. All of the instruments are fully functional including the interior lighting. The clock is not working. Also, the power antenna is not working, although the AM/FM 8-track radio is working.
The beautifully preserved leather upholstery has been kept out of the damaging sun its entire life unless the car was being driven. This supple leather was treated to a full cleaning and conditioning front to back. There are two punctures on the upper bolster, driver's side. Otherwise the leather is nearly perfect.
Known paint flaws are a quarter-sized "ding" on the trunk lid. There are also two very faint "dings" on the hood, these could be removed by a paintless dent repair person. Look closely at the above photo. The trunk lid also has a paint chip, see the photos. Hard to see flaws, but I wanted to make note. The paint is in excellent condition. Recently, the paint was professionally polished and sealed front to back.
Under the hood is the maintained and smooth running original 500 cubic inch 8.3 liter Cadillac V8 engine. This engine wears its original paint, never touched up in any way. This includes the inner fenderwells, core support, and firewall. All of the factory finishes are in place, showing minimal wear. Again, this engine compartment has never been detailed, you're looking at just over 7,000 original miles. Original decals are markings are in place along with the original trim identification plate. The Firethorn Red metallic paint (36) was paired with Dark Firethorn Red & White Interior (072). The fuel system was recently serviced. The fuel tank was dropped, cleaned and re-installed. The fuel pump was replaced. Rubber lines and hoses were inspected throughout and replaced as needed. The heater core was replaced. The brake system was attended too (master cylinder, lines, calipers) The air conditioning system is still in need of service. The system is complete and had some pressure after a lengthy storage. The underhood insulation was also replaced.

The trunk is just excellent, complete with its original cloth panels, rubber mat, and untouched "space saver" spare tire/wheel & dualinflation canisters. The original jack shows as new, also appears to have never been touched.

The undercarriage is original and excellent, never detailed or refinished or touched-up. This car has only been maintained over the years, nothing restored. Parts have been replaced as needed. In recent history, the brake calipers were replaced along with the brake lines. The floor pans are in excellent condition, in need of nothing. The door undersides, rocker panels, inner quarter panels, inner fenders, and frame is in excellent condition. The exhaust system is also original and intact.
